I get this error message constantly while navigating through folders containing videos of various formats:

Windows host process rundll32 has stopped working.

It seems to triggered by MPEG or IFO files and probably any other number formats. I tried several different codec packs including several different versions of K-lite and also VistaCodecs but i keep getting ambushed with these error messages. Perhaps it was foolish to run out and buy a new computer with Vista pre-loaded and actually expect it to work correctly but the punishment far outweighs the sin. Or perhaps I am an idiot and screwed something up? Any advice for me? The Reformat of Damocles is hovering ominously over my CPU.

Re: Windows Vista RunDLL32 error

I did some reading and found that lmpgspl.ax causes this. (found in the
Windows\System32 directory). There are also two other ax files. Unregister them and problem should be solved. (this is based on something I read, so it may not be accurate)

Thanks to you both for your help. I think I am on my way to fixing this thing.

Do you ever get down on your knees and thank God that you know me?!
