I hate to sound like a mooch, but Windowa Vista has me really confuzzled

ok so i got a new laptop.. and it has windows vista ultimate..

everything is fine and dandy until i want to watch my anime...

at first i couldnt watch it on the Windows Media Player or on the vlc media player...

so I upgrade my DiVX driver and YAY i can watch anything in a 'AVI" format on the WMP.

Problem is when i try to watch ".MKV" or ".OGM" formats. The WMP does not recognize them and the VLC Media player only plays the sound...

so Can Anyone Help? Can I do anything to make it work.. any suggestions will be appreciated.. n for reference my laptop model is Toshiba Satellite a 135- s4499 with Windows Vista Ultimate..

Try googling and downloading a codec pack like "k-lite".
