Where to cash your rebate check?

Where to cash your rebate check?

Yes, I was at Wal-Mart today and saw the signs on the front doors advertising they'd take my check and give me money in return for free. I was out, hopping between stores, looking for a good deal on a lawn mower that hubby wants for Father's Day.

Wal-Mart is offering to cash your rebate check for free. No strings attached. With no strings, Wal-Marts' numbers are increasing.

Although this is not new news, it certainly will come in handy for Wal-Mart months after their announcement. Consider all of the people who expected an early direct deposit into their bank accounts, only to end up having to wait on their stimulus rebate check to be mailed to them because they used a tax provider who deducted fees from their return.'

I must say, I'm still not happy that this wasn't publicized until AFTER everyone completed their tax return. For me, I still get to wait about another month.

Did I find "the" lawnmower at Wal-Mart? No. Still looking.

Re: Where to cash your rebate check?

Ive heard about this. I also heard a couple of grocery stores ( i believe raleys, bel-air, nob hill) are cashing them for free, AND giving you a bonus $$$ if you cash your rebate in for a store gift card. Im pretty sure the bonus for buying a store giftcard was very substantial too!

Here's a link to my above post, with more details. The stores include safeway, and sears as well as Raley's markets.

That was an interesting read. I didn't realize that Land's End and Kmart are tied to Sears. I was planning on stopping in at Sears today to check out what lawnmowers they had. Adding 10% to gift cards is a pretty good deal. Wish Home Depot would do that.

Safeway adding 10% off purchases (within 2 days) would be alright as long as you still get the Club Card purchase price discount. Otherwise it's a stalemate.

Thank you!
