Where in the world...
Submitted by smartmom on April 30, 2008 - 5:02am.
Yep I'm a today show watcher and currently Matt is on his "where in the world is Matt Laurer" trip. So if you could pick one place (money doesn't matter) where in the world would you go? and on the flip... Where in the world would you go AGAIN - name your favorite vacation spot?
we need a travel forum Re: Where in the world...

Hmm. . .my husband and I are planning a trip to Australia and New Zealand at the end of this year, so I won't list that--hmm, Japan? I know I've been dying to go there! I haven't been to a lot of places, but my favorite place to visit so far has been Vegas. I always enjoy that there's so much to do. Then when you get tired of the city, you can always head out of Vegas and do something else Re: Where in the world...

Smartmom and Tuna need one of these, since they've been to so many places. I just saw it on somebody's MySpace profile and thought it was kinda neat. But I have a fascination w/ maps anyway: http://www.travbuddy.com/widget_map.php

I'd like to drive across the country. But I'm wierd in that I actually enjoy driving.
Oh see my hubby likes to drive and one cool thing we use to do all the time when the kids were little is rent a RV and check out the US. We had a ball and did that for years. One great place that has RV rentals all over the US is cruiseamerica. The only down side is the cost of gas now days but the rentals were very reasonable. We had alot of great memories doing this.

The USA smells like burnt gunpowder and exhaust fumes!
And freedom. Don't forget the sweet, sweet smell of freedom. Oh and maybe the smell of charcoal from a cookout. I like New York. I've only been once so I'd like to go again. Great restaurants. I tend to travel according to my stomach. Atlanta is always good. San Fransisco too. I've not been to Australia so that would be good. New Zealand as well. I'd like to go to Japan or China but I fear the language barrier would make it hard for me to eat according to my restrictions. edit: I drove cross country to Oregon helping my sister move there. I would love to go back to Oregon. Awesome state. "I'm just like you only shorter."

i would have to say italy, egypt or greece. i would love to explore the italian catacombs. that there is much undiscovered underneath the ground people walk on everyday is amazing. there are crypts, but people have found masterpieces underneath their own homes & businesses. egypt beause their ideas about religion and death are absolutely fascinating. the book of the dead, and their god/goddess system occcupy me endlessly on days where i can't get to the PC (reading on vacations, in the car when the hubby is driving), or just when i feel like reading when i have a quiet minute. the works of aleister crowley are awesome too, with much interesting information about egyptian beliefs. greece for many of the same reasons...and architecture. as for favorite vacation spot, i always thought chicago was a beautiful city...don't know why. but i'd have to go with san fran over chicago. new york is beautiful too. you can feel the energy, just walking down the street. it's electric there.
it even helped discover gravity, it's pretty awesome! Re: Where in the world...

I think if I had to pick a spot to go to it would be Scotland. My family is real Scottish and I would love to travel there one day.
favorite vacation spots: well see I have alot of frequent flyer miles so we travel quite a bit. Some of our favorite Family vacations have been: Hawaii and our Montana/Wyoming vacation. We have also done some great cruises though the Caribbean. Now I have also traveled quite a bit alone (pre kids/married days or on Business trips). Some of those favorite spots would be Switzerland, Germany, England, & Alaska (I'm taking the family to Alaska this summer and I can't wait).
