The entry period closed on Friday. HOWEVER, I made it in the 10 finalists. They'll be judged half on the photo and half on the caption. Voting will begin on this Monday, June 23, and conclude at noon on Monday, July 7. Anyone can vote, including friends and family, but each person gets only one vote per day.
My wife entered me in a local Hottest Dad contest. I need your votes! I'm not in last place but also not in first place. That's where you come in. You can vote every single day and you should. Well, voting is over and it looks like I get fourth. Unless something happens that is. I want to thank everyone who voted. It was nice having the support and encouragement of so many. Paul, I suspect, because of the 4th of July Holiday, that no one was monitoring the site from Thursday until this morning. Apparently when they fixed the glitches that allowed the multiple votes, those votes were probably deleted. Sorry, I truly hoped we could pull it off for you.

Well, I guess I'll go on down the address book for some more, lol. Do you think they will know they'll all coming from the same computer cause I've already put in about 35 today? Let me know and I'll try and get you 30 or so more.
Technically they should know if they all come from the same IP. However I don't think they care too much about that. People share computers. No telling how many people use the ones at the library. I dropped to second over night but have bumped back up to first now this morning. I'm ahead by 1%. Let's stretch that out some. Four hours and counting.

I'm in first by 2% right now. I say the more we can get in tonight the better off I'll be. I need as big of a gap between me and the other guys. Devil, I'm afraid your vote might be counting. Try to set Firefox to delete cookies when you close Firefox. That way when you close the browser in between votes you won't have to deal with the confirmations. I see light at the end of the tunnel. YAY!! Paul's tied for 1st!! Since we figured out that if we close our browser between each vote, it states "your vote has been cast" and they aren't sending confirmations out for them. I've done this yesterday and today and have not received any confirmations for any of them. So today I sent an email to about 25 of my friends in my address book and told them I was using their e-mail to vote for something and that if they got any confirmations to go ahead and confirm them. So I just got done voting with those and now Paul's tied for 1st. I'll let you guys know if anybody gets an email confirmation. That's the only thing I can figure out we can do until noon tomorrow...

saweeeet! i've been able to vote twice a day. morning and night.
<edit>my guess is the other guy has "corporate" peeps voting for him during the week days. he always slips down in the rankings by the end of the weekend. which means, since the contest ends tomorrow at noon, we've got to put our GuG heads together and join forces to vote day and night until noon tomorrow.

I have done one Gmail vote every day since the voting started and never got a confirmation email until today, and suddenly there was a Gmail confirmation.
And then there is my Yahoo email that sends continuous emails all day long, every time I click on the confirmation link, another email arrives in my inbox. I have had as many as 16 confirmation emails on that account that finally stop at midnight each day.
Bumping this up to keep everybody voting.... Paul is making progress!! YAY!!

Has anyone ever gotten a confirmation email for a yahoo email account? I get them for my other ones but not for yahoo.... just wondering if my yahoo votes are counting. The guy that was in 3rd is now tied with Paul for 2nd so everyone remember to vote..... even you newbies!!!
The very first time I voted with my Yahoo account, i got the confirmation in my junk mail folder. I marked it as "not spam", figuring it would show up in my inbox the next day, and confirmed the vote. I haven't gotten a single one since, and I've voted every day, neither in my inbox or spam folder.

ok, i did my voting...
HERE'S A SHORTCUT I USED FOR ALL OF MY VOTING TODAY....
and i just realized, that in my confirmation emails, if i just click the link from one i've already received, it takes me to the confirmation page "your vote has been cast!"
now, i doesn't let me do this twice in one day (i did it on accident the other day...wasn't sure if i had confirmed) it takes me to the "you can only vote once a day" screen if i do that..
so, if you have an offline email client like i do, where all your emails are filtered to, it makes it super easy...all my confirmation emails are in the same spot, so i can just click the links everyday...rather than going to the site, typing in the address and clicking the bubble...
Not bad. i had never thought of recycling the confirmation emails. That would make life easy. Great tip and thanks for voting. I'm currently in second but not by much.

Bumping up again for Paul - I just entered my 9 votes for the day and his percentage rose by 1%. He's now tied for 2nd at 20% and Wipperman only has 26% now so we're slowing but surely closing the gap! I think we can do it by Monday at noon if everyone keeps at it. Last night I made to tied for second. This morning I'm now in third but only by 1%. I don't think it will take much to boost me up into second. Then I'm going after Wipperman, Wipperman!! (said like Homer would say Flanders or maybe said how Seinfeld would say Newman). Any way if you use Firefox and set it to clear cookies and personal data when you close Firefox you can vote, close Firefox, vote close Firefox and not get the annoying confirmation emails. Holla! Something strange going on with the voting today. I voted with my four e-mails this morning. Now I have received six confirmations to one of the e-mail addresses and every time I click on the link to confirm, another e-mail arrives in my in box!!! Six so far have arrived from voting on this one e-mail address.
Yeah they seem to be struggling. This morning I got two emails for every vote. One email had the confirmation link one had nothing in it. Thanks for voting.

So far, from that one e-mail address that I voted on yesterday, I have gotten 14 e-mail vote confirmations! None of the other e-mail addresses I used did this. Also, I have have tried a g-mail address that I have, but have never received a confirmation on that one at all.
