Vista working well by itself, does not play well with others so far......

Okay, so I got a new HP media center that came with Vista and so far after hours work trying to network it with my XP machine nothing. The oldskool HP see's the new Vista machine jus fine, but the Vista pc does not want to open it's eyes and look around. Crazy huh...not really.

And worst off we went with the wireless card wile trying to network stuff, and now I no matter what I try can not get the new Vista pc to reconize a land line DSL, it only wants to run off wireless no matter what setting or command I tell it.

Vista = I bout give up.

This was my first post so thank you all for letting me vent on a site were people can understand things don't always go well with new systems.

Thanks gang and latorgators,

Poppa

Vista...

as long as I dont install my games I dont mind it.. I like that it looks good YET funny enough my only issue with it (besides it not playing my .mkv or .ogm vids) was the whole "computer" issue.. i just renamed it " MY #%(#&%(@ computer" and I smiled... I dont think I can do a dual boot with my new laptop.. something about vista ultimate... bleh somehow I have never liked the "home" editions of ANY MS OS.. srry MS home should not = eeny weeny features...

.:Monstre:.

Re: Vista working well by itself, does not play well with others

"Does not play well with others" happens every time MS releases a new OS. MS willg et jumped on by the justice department, and MS will say "well we didn't notice that our software caused problems for non-MS software" (yeah right) and release a patch to fix it.

Re: Vista working well by itself, does not play well with others

I tried using Vista myself so I understand your frustration. If you really want to keep gutting out all the little problems with vista I would suggest dual booting with XP. At least with XP you will get some enjoyment  out of your new PC  while you wait for hotfixes to roll out for vista.
