I've been having some issues uploading an image from my desktop for my background.

When I use the profile editor, it'll let me upload the image, but it won't save it, even after I press the "Save" button. So I'm back to where I started, with a blank background.

I also tried typing the image code into the "About Me" section. This loaded my image, but it ended up being small. I was hoping my image cover the whole screen, not float in the middle. So I played with my image ratios (800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200, I tried them all), but it kept on loading it as the same small size.

This is the code I used

body{background-image:url(my image's url);
background-attachment:fixed}

I know it can't be a problem with the image. It's not corrupted, under 5MB, and a jpg.

So, how do I upload my image and have it cover the whole screen?

Well, I'm uploading the image straight from my desktop (so the url is along the lines of C:\Documents and Settings\...). I'll try using Imageshack.us and tinypic.com to see what happens.

 Yeah, you have to upload your image to a file hosting site before you can use it as a background on the internet.

Meaning, you cannot use something that's just saved on your computer, it has to have an internet URL.

Hosting sites like mentioned above (imageshack etc..) will let you upload the picture you want from your computer, and give you the URL you need for your background

Re: Uploading Image for Background

I think it depends on where you uploaded it. Photobucket for instance resizes pictures that it thinks are too big. Imageshack.us and tinypic.com are better for hosting background pics.
