I wanted to add... is it just me... or do they not seem very smiley in the trailers??

Maybe I'm the only one who got this, but to me, in the book, they were pretty smiley to each other... at least when they started dating or whatever... maybe the trailers don't show much post dating portion... I dunno...

Oh, and I saw some leaked footage... I'm not too sure how impressive the jumping from tree to tree is going to be... it looks a bit fake (yes I realize that it is)... I just think with our technology we should be able to do better... or maybe I just saw it wrong... I dunno... I'm hoping for the best... maybe at that speed gravity doesn't have the same affect on us and jumping can look like flying... ... yeah...

yea..i've seen 8 minutes of the film...i didnt like the jumping from tree to tree ether. i totally agree it looked...bad..weird, i dont know how to describe it..but as a fellow twilighter im sure you can understand what i mean? also, i dont know if you know but you can listen to the soundtrack on amazon, and someone got the soundtrack early and so she posted the songs on youtube, the full songs and good quality too.

also...with all the different promos and tv spots out there..dont you kinda feel like you've seen the movie already? i mean, we all know whats going to happen because we read the book, obviously. but like all the different promos they keep showing different clips and snippets of hte movie, i feel like i've seen all of it already. maybe it doesnt help that i've read part of the script and saw 8 minutes of the film already..but still..lol. i dont know. what are your thoughts?

Yeah... I kinda feel like I've seen the movie... every time that I see a portion that doesn't follow the book exactly, it's easy to predict how it's going to go because of the book... so... yeah... I almost wish they would have stopped at like... 2 trailers...

And the tree jumping... or any of the jumping around for that matter... it's too easy to tell that the cables were used... it doesn't look natural in the slightest (even for supernatural beings)... but again, I'm hoping that it gives a different effect in theaters...

I think I probably saw the same 8 minutes as you... I thought it was pretty cute... but kind of off... like obvious acting... but I think it's due to the lack of being involved in the movie... does that make sense? Like if we had been watching from the beginning, it would have flowed... but with a snippet out of the middle it's not as smooth to transition into that mindset...

and from what I've heard on the youtube soundtrack, I've yet to stumble upon the real lullaby... but I can wait... I mean, after all, it DOES release tomorrow... no biggie.

I did get excited for the Decode video though... it was different (the song)... and the setting of the video was gorgeous...

I'm still crossing my fingers that the film does well so that they might have a better chance on getting the movie rights to the other books Smiling

yea exactly..i definitely wished they stopped..at like 2 trailers ago. and just today while i was watching tv i saw another new tv spot with different clips

yea..all the supernatural stuff..tree jumping, the moving rapidly it looks...un-natural, even for the supernatural. like the stuff we saw in the scene in the ballet studio..i remember reading how Catherine Hardwick didnt want to use like stunt men, or something i forgot, but because they did it like speed-ramp it allowed them to shoot more..or easier? i cant remember exactly what it said, but it was in the natural of like short-cutting the action stuff because they like speed-ramp/slowmo'd it. thats the only part of the movie where im a bit cringe-worthy.

yea..your probably write about the clip we saw. lol the only thing is, i hope that when i do actually watch the movie there wont be a tremendous amount of screaming and shrieking..you know what i mean?

but im with you, and hoping the film does do well so we can get the other books to become a movie...i think if we did get to see the other books become movies..it'll just get better.

I have a plan to avoid shrieking... I think on opening night (especially if it's a Thursday Midnight showing) there will be screaming... so... of course I still have to see it opening night... I can't avoid that... but then, on Monday or Tuesday, I'm gonna catch the earliest showing... when most of the kiddies are in school anyway (the screamers)... and see it in peace...

I just watched the ballet studio fight scene again... and I saw a stunt that's going to make me cringe every time... when she sprays James and runs off and he jumps over her to stop her... his jump is very... "you' shaped... like he goes up, down a bit, up again, and then lands..... grr... if they flew, that'd be one thing... but they don't... and gravity doesn't let one jump like that.

Im so excited for this to hurry up and be released!

I heard that making him sparkle in the sunlight was the hardest effect to achieve, so im curious to see how it came out. And I agree with the tree thing- i was uber impressed with the sneak peak I saw.

Oh, in the leaked footage, bella's lullaby was played in it... I'm very impressed with it... so pretty Smiling ... I'd post it, but the quality wasn't good so... yeah... I refuse to put up a crappy video...

Just thought I'd inform you all that I updated again... this time the video from the official single of the Twilight Soundtrack "Decode"... I've been waiting forever for it to come out... it premiered today Smiling

I'll have to hunt around later to see if I missed anything new this weekend... The soundtrack is released tomorrow.... and ummm... 18 days I think till the movie... unless you guys have theaters showing the Thursday Night Midnight showing... then 17 days... yeah... I know I'm a little obsessive about this movie... but it's okay.

I sorta felt that way in the beginning with all the hype around the "twilight" books, but actually in the summer my cousin lent me the book, told me that it was actually pretty good..so i started to read it...i finished twilight in 2 days, then read new moon in 2 days and eclipse in 3...and breaking dawn in 3 days as well. to say i got hooked..well yea haha! i dont know what happend..but at first reading twilight i just got sucked in and i could not stop reading. and so im extremely excited about the movie coming out!

i gotta say i disagree about Kristen Stewart playing bella..i think shes a great fit for bella, ordinary..sorta dry...not that this is anyway to like put negative comments on kristen stewart, i love her as an actress. but i do have to say..i find that the cullens..the actors portraying them are disappointing..i just figured from reading the books they would be more..i dont know..handsome? they seemed to be hyped up so much within the book, i guess the actors should be too..i dont know.

but i think they movie will be good..dont know about stephanie hardwick's style of directing..but the script seems to be alright..from what i read on a couple of sides i have..which..if anyone wants im willing to share!

Blasphemy! I think Robert Pattinson is the most beautiful man alive... A perfect Edward if you ask me...

(no I did NOT put in those hearts)

But I must agree on the others... Carlisle... the actor they picked for him looks kind of odd as a blonde... and Jasper... He was sort of a disappointment for me... I would have pictured Emmett being more body builderesque... and Rosalie.... Eh... She's a beautiful girl, but I pictured someone a bit more extravagantly beautiful... and Alice... she's fine... she's cute... I only pictured her with shorter hair... Esme is fine I guess... I thought her hair was supposed to be lighter... but then again Laurent isn't supposed to be black lol...

Then again, it was a book, so everyone sees the characters in a different way...

I thought they did a good job with James too... I thought Victoria was a good pick, but they should have tinted her hair a bit more red... this chick was more blonde with a bit of strawberry... I also recall seeing her in the end scene... which... seems wrong to me... but maybe I understood that 'behind the scenes' bit incorrectly...

And I don't remember if I said this yet or not, but I've got you beat... I read all four books in four days Sticking out tongue ... would have been 3 if I hadn't been interrupted so.. although I did read a few chapters of the first here and there before I sat down and focused.. so maybe 4 is more accurate...

I've got a lot more updating to do for this movie on this thread... but it's going to have to wait until Monday... I'm waiting for a new premier Eye-wink

Two small things... Borders is doin a thing where if you buy $25 or more in Twilight merch (they have more than just books) that you'll get a free Twilight movie poster... Starting Nov. 4th

and

Free Twilight trading cards?

The Twilight soundtrack will also be hitting stores on Nov. 4th...

Hey Miss Anime, our sourse for all things twilight....
Did the author pick the actors or have the final say. If anyone knows how they are supposed to look it would be her right?

It sounds like she had a lot to do with the movie so I am curious to know how they picked the actors.

Summit Entertainment was in control of all of that... but I think Stephenie Meyer did a great enough job with describing the MAIN characters that they stuck close to what she wanted...

I don't like the actress who plays Bella, either.

I will probably see the movie....I am trying to get through the first book. It is interesting enough and I know there has to be something to it for literally everyone to be talking about Twilight. I am so, so busy right now and maybe I am just not in the mood to read.

I hope the movie inspires me to read all the books...I do love vampires and I want to know what all the fuss is about!

Ugh... I think I know what you mean... when I first started reading the first book, I thought it was 'alright'... I figured it was a good book, entertaining... but I had to sorta force myself to get through it...

That is until about halfway...

Halfway through it picked up... and big time... at least for me... Right at the meadow scene if you haven't gotten there yet... Then you couldn't pay me to stop reading.

I think in the beginning it was just being carefully set up... The movie is supposed to be a bit different since it's fast paced and movies are intended to be attention grabbing from beginning to end...

Kristin Stewart's (Bella) presence just annoys me... in all movies... in any picture... I don't know... She seems a bit plain for me... and I don't mean on the outside (that too, but isn't that what Bella is?)... I mean she seems kinda ordinary and dull from the inside... I'm hoping I'm wrong... because I don't like boring people... and I really want this movie do be good.

I really hope this movie does well so that Stephenie Meyer will sell the movie rights for the other books :)

I love this quote as per IMDB... after the scene in the trailer where he stops the van from smushing her...

Isabella Swan: Are you going to tell me how you stopped the van?
Edward Cullen: Yeah. Um... I had an adrenaline rush. It's very common. You can Google it.

It's kinda nice to know that if you read the book, that it won't be word for word and still have surprises here and there... The screenwriter mentioned doing things in the movie (like jumping through the trees) so they could SHOW the powers of the vampires since they weren't really acted out in the book... well for the most part Bella couldn't 'see' them acted out because they move quicker than the human eye... so we get a glimpse at it... something else to look forward to..

Although I've already seen some variations through the trailers that I'm not happy with... I have a feeling I'm going to be in the theater going: "wrong.... wrong... COMPLETELY WRONG..... that's wrong too..... OH COME ON!!..."

That whole thing is just a myth in the "real" vampire world. Vampires dont melt or die... they sparkle in the sunlight like crystal. Which is why they live in places like Fork, WA instead of, say, Florida (you're safe, .)

s'okay... I fixed it... didn't take it out exactly since it wasn't a HUGE spoiler... but... fun fact at the panel conference thing I went to with the screenwriter of the movie... she said that was THE most difficult things to accomplish... I'd say more, but I gotta shhhhhhh before I spoil it.
