Trackspace info is 99% bogus

OK. I use two tracks: trackspace and profileviewplus. According to trackspace, I get like 40-60 profile views a day, coming from everywhere in the world. I get hits from Saudi Arabia and Nigeria. Sometimes I'll get 15 hits from some country I've never heard of. However, both profileviewplus and my Myspace profile view counter tell me otherwise. Usually it's around 5-10 hits a day according to both of those. The other thing is that every time I see that I get a profile view on myspace, it corresponds with information on profileviewplus. Every. Single. Time.

Trackspace not only tells me that I'm getting profile views that myspace doesn't at all count, but the amount I've had in the previous 24 hours randomly changes. Sometimes I'll check and I'll have 3 pages worth of profile views on trackspace. I'll refresh the page and all of a sudden it tells me I have six pages worth of profile views. I'll refresh again and it will change into four pages.

And then of course there is the matter of my profile views going up by two or three every time I log into trackspace, yet trackspace doesn't confirm that two or three people have viewed my profile in those ten seconds, nor does profileviewplus.

To top it off, my information is private on trackspace, so people aren't finding me through there, and I only have 50 people on my friends list. None of this makes any sense at all. I emailed the trackspace people about it but they never got back to me. If any of these profile views are real, they are coming from bots.

Which brings me to another thing. There's been quite a few times where I'll log into trackspace and immediately get emails/friend requests from fake myspace profile. This has happened at least 20 times.

So, basically, trackspace is completely useless. Does anybody know why any of this stuff happens?

Is the Trackspace code in your headline?  If so, then you could get dozens, hundreds, I'm really not sure how many hits because of the MySpace browse or search page. *I think* if you pop under someone's browse or search then that *might* count as a hit.  I'm only guessing as I think I've heard that here before.

Personally, I would love it if they actually activated my profile!

about trackspace:

trackspace counts the hits everytime the person launches the code. so if they view your pics and then they go back to your profile, thats another hit. if they view your blogs (or views the blogs one by one) everytime they go back to your profile they launch the code again. You could put a separate trackspace code in your pic comments or blog header area to match and confirm the hits.

that does happen. I usually say that is because your trackspace data is not set to private--but you said it is already. I cant explain why, but you always get hits when you log on to trackspace. It just happens that way. They are probably coming from the site itself, not other myspace users. So, when you log into it, just always expect a hit or two. When you go to certain sites and enter your friend id numbers (like on profile snatcher sites) that increases profile views. Basically your friend id number is being run through the system. it is just hard to explain i guess.

i know that trackspace does have annoying glitches (like your page counts going up and down or activation delays) but i personally like trackspace very much because it matches up dynamic ip addresses together. With most other trackers you have to wonder and guess if those addresses are linked to the same person or not.

Re: Trackspace info is 99% bogus

Do you happen to have your Trackspace code in your headline? That could give A LOT of false hits. Most of what you described is new to me, and a bunch of us have had Trackspace for a long time going. (A year for me, I think)

I'm not sure that emailing them will help, as I've I've never heard of Trackspace actually having any kind of support or admins around.

If you want to give a new tracker a try, MixMap is ok, and I've heard decent things about Createblog but I've never tried it. Good luck!
