is trackspace down i cant seem to get on today
trackspace down?
There was a thread posted here a couple of days ago about trackspace working on cells. You can read it here:
Yep strange I can't get to log on via my pc but on my cell it works - strange. Anyways go read - maybe it can help some.

Im going to be honest in my opinion. I can never get it to work right for me. I always have wierd hits from it and half the time it doesnt work at all. I gave up on it a long time ago. However thats just me, some other gugs will tell you differently they can get it to work. I think trackspace hates me though haha
"If everybody is thinking alike then nobody is thinking"
How did you reset your code?
I just keep clearing cookies...it seems that trackspace is missing a lot of hits anymore.
I know they created another site but I tried to sign up for that one in early January and I still did not receive the activation email. I have requested it three times.
And the people "online' has remained the same for the past several days. When that changes, I guess I will assume they fixed it.
Hi,
I've been using trackspace for quite awhile and it has worked pretty well for me as far as tracking IP's. The last week or so I can't login - the page won't load. I've tried different browers and even computers with no luck. I checked add-ons', turned off filters, still no luck. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
I'm surprised that they haven't fixed the site yet.
The members online count hasn't changed in a long time. I know I'm missing a lot of hits. Even mixmap is picking more up than trackspace.
And I would think that the answer is simple as to why we want to know who's looking at our sites...."why not?" In it, harm none.
Hi,
I'm new to GuG. Well, I've been poking around for a couple weeks but this is my first post.
I started using trackspace recently, and I really like it so far - until this morning. The page is down...
Does this happen often for them?
I guess you get what you pay for, right? LOL
-Anon
Well it's still not loading for me. I've tried everything I can think of - clearing out my cookies, temp files, cache, etc etc etc. Using IE, Firefox, etc. I enter my name and pw, and the page loads forever - never fully loading. Any thoughts? I haven't gotten on once in a couple of weeks.
Why would you want to use a tracker on myspace when it's against the TOS rules?
Is there some reason why you need to find someone's IP? What specifically are you looking for?
I could understand if there was a good valid reason for it, like a "stalker" maybe? But, me myself, don't feel comfortable going against rules of someone's property that I sign up for.
Plus, myspace finds them anyways, and gets rid of them. It happens all the time.
Now, if it was used for a website of your own and was curious as to who was hitting it on a daily basis and their locations...that might be different.
I knew this lady once that was obsessed with her husband's mistress. The mistress/husband had a short affair and the mistress got pregnant by the ladie's husband. I don't think the lady knew that, but she followed the mistress for years and years and would do sneaky things to try and find her, she could not let go of it all.
She'd go to extremes to follow her. She had a tracker on her website to see if the mistress was ever going to her site to see her husband in any way. It all backfired, though, because the lady was caught by the officials for cyber bullying. The mistress found out about all that the lady was doing from friends and finally got a PI to investigate the obsessed wife. They caught her and she was exposed.
That's just one story that went too crazily overboard. But, unfortunately, there are people out there that are that unstable.
Good luck with that.
Well I'll tell you why I have trackers, it's really a couple of reasons. First as you can see I'm kinda all over this site. Because of that I get a tremendous amounts of hits on my profile. I've had my profile for a just year now and I have had over 10 thousand hits - that's alot. That alone made me want to see who was looking.
Also as a parent I use my tracker to keep a eye on my kids. OK that sounded odd but some trackers show more - mainly the older trackers. See I can purposely track myself and one of my trackers will show all of the myspace ID's that are associated with that IP addy. See I do know that it is popular with kids to have 2 myspaces. One for mom and dad to see that is "clean" and one that they really use that mom and dad have no clue about. Well when I track myself I can see if there is any odd ID's that show up. Have I had that problem with my teenage boys NO, there good kids. I did however discover my 16 yr old niece had a second profile - one that really put her at risk because of the information she had on it.
Stalkers - yes I also have them. I have currently three stalkers (all girls). Kinda stupid and one is a relative (one I don't get along with - married into the family). So it's nice to see when they are very active. Plus I had one stalker that I have no idea who he is even to this day but lets just say his profile was scary as hell. He was very much into beating women and proudly displayed it with pictures. He had a poem in a blog about what it was like to have sex with a mutilated woman - that scared the hell out of me. He wasn't in my area but had I not had a tracker he could have continued to go on and on. I did report him to myspace (as did alot of my friends here) and that profile was shut down really fast by myspace.
I think trackers are a MUST on kids profiles. I think they are a great tool for parents to monitor who is looking at there childs profile. Cyber bulling is a real problem now day.
So TOS or not I will track regardless. This is just my feelings on trackers.

I can understand that! Especially being a mom and watching out for her kids.
The stalkers...eh! I've had one psycho one for YEARS and I have no idea what this person's problem is, but I could give a crap, ya know?
She's not proving anything to me except for the fact that she's obsessively jealous. But, that's her problem and not mine. YUCK!
Good luck with your stalkers. I think people should get a hobby if they feel that they gotta go cause some doo doo in other's lives. They only do if we let them. If not, they're miserable on their own.
Good point. Here is something found on the web:
"When you're a victim of a personal attack online, the first thing to remember is this: It's extremely difficult to put yourself out there on the web, but it's supremely easy to critique or mock others who do. The web is crawling with overcaffeinated surfers who have been staring at a glowing box for hours - not the ideal environment for human interaction. It's easy to take out frustrations on someone online because they don't quite feel real. Talking smack puts people in a position of power, one they want to be in because they feel small and weak in other areas of their lives. The key words here are "small" and "weak."
I agree about the stalkers that I currently have - ehh stalk away. I'm not one that is worried if one of my pics makes it to the open. I do know that everything on the internet is open. Hide what you want but it is the "World Wide Web".
I agree ppl (stalkers) do need to grow up and get a life.

many people have many reasons for using a tracker. to them their reason is a real reason. you say the wife was exposed, it is not a crime or wrong to try to find out what ones husband is doing , the crime here is the husband commiting adultery. maybe the husband who had the mistress wasnt honest to his wife and the things she did were to get to the truth. when you have been with someone a very long time - married maybe you just know when something is wrong, you sense it like a sixth sense. so a wife trying to find out about her philandering spouse is not doing wrong - she has a right to know. he is wrong for going against the marriage vows , generally the wrong doer tells mistress the wife is a little crazy, but tells the wife the mistress is crazy. obviously in these situations it is the wrong doing husband who has the issues - not mistress or wife. people tend to blame the other woman (or man) rather than their own partner because it is too painful to think that the person you married and who is supposed to love you is deceiving you.
also it isnt really going against myspace rules because myspace has brought out its own aplications now, one being remarkably like a tracker - called profile counter and i don't think myspace would go through millions of profiles just to see if there is a tracker code hidden in them.
trackers can help catch pedophiles or criminals and protect vulnerable adults and children etc- that is a good thing.
what im trying to say really is who are we to judge anyone elses situations, every one thinks their reason is important.
sorry if i went on a little bit but when i read this i felt sorry for the poor wife who was firstly decieved by her husband - he even had a child to his mistress - poor wife that must have hurt very much, i think such a painful experience would send many people over the edge, make them unstable. then to be "caught" for bullying must have been difficult to her seeing as she was the one originally wronged.

Yeah, the husband was just as much to blame, but the wife made her choice to stay with him and continued to follow the mistress for over 26 years.
Now that's a little extreme if not psycho. I can understand her being hurt. That would hurt me really badly and I do feel for her, too, in this situation. But, she forgave the husband and according to my friend who knew her, said she followed the mistress to different states, talked to the mistress' ex husband, her friends, sent the police after her telling them that she was harassing her. The mistress lost the baby. I guess she was only pregnant for a couple of months.
You read stories like this in the newspaper.Like that one lady astronaut that drove all the way to Florida (wearing diapers so that she would not have to stop at the restrooms) to spray something on her ex boyfriend's new girlfriend---something like that--
In those cases, I would definetly get all I could to protect myself.
I had a visit from someone in Southern CA that came from my friends list... supposedly. I don't have any friends in L.A. Not to mention it said that they were "private" and how can that be if it was one of my my friends??? I don't get it...

That occasionally happens to me, but the truth is, there is no perfect IP tracker. It doesn't exist. You have to take all results with a grain of salt, and compare results with other sources. I like this site for tracking the location of the IP's. As far as catching hits on my page, Trackspace has been excellent.

You're right. It catches people but it does not put them in the correct location. Mixmap does it better. I really miss Spyspace.

EatYourHeartOut..I agree about the wrong locations. I get that quite often, not just with the States but with UK as well.
LadyCerridwn...thanks for posting that link. I just tried it out and it worked first time against an ip address where I actually knew the location. I shall definately use this along with Trackspace - which incidently is down again for me.
They seem to be down (again). Usually it takes a day or so and they're running again. You may have just been unlucky this last week, they've been hit or miss and you must have missed. I was able to sign in yesterday but then later on and up until now - nothing (again).
I find Trackspace to be very tempermental especially lately. Sometimes it won't display page but often I find that when I clear all my cookies it loads ok - not today though. It was fine earlier but playing up now. Maybe they're doing work on it or something. Wish they'd bring the Top Visitors feature back.
If I knew of another reliable and invisible one, I'd try it.
Thought I'd update..it seems to be working for me now. I cleared my cookies, it still wouldn't work so I just put "trackspace" into google and went in ok from there. I do feel though as it's not picking up everyone as on myspace it says 7 people have looked at my blog but tracker have only picked up 3 visitors.
I'm able to log on and catch hits as of right now. But I'm sure history will repeat itself and I'll get that STUPID error message again within the next couple of minutes. Gggrrr.
Who runs Trackspace? I feel like throwing something. LOL. I guess you can't expect too much from something that is free though, right?
here i am again. what the heck is happening to trackspace. it isnt even there no more. i had it in my favourites and even that has changed. could anyone tell me if they are having this problem please.
thanks

I've been trying to log on off the past few days, and finally last night I was able to. It LOOKED like it was working - I tested it with a few hits myself (which were picked up, along w/ a few others) but that only lasted about 5 minutes, and then it gave me the error again. Haven't been able to log on since. GGGrrr, this is so frustrating!!
I'm tempted to give up and try another tracker in my headline, but I'd really like to stay with Trackspace. Which headline trackers would you guys recommend? Mixmap? That's the only other one that I know of.
The last three days I have been having problems, once in a while it will let me in but now I keep getting this, this is pissing me off. My target is harassing me from a fake space and I can't call her out cause I can't pull up my ip tracker. GGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Connect FAILED: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)
Has anyone had any trouble with Trackspace results? All the other trackers are working fine, but Trackspace hasn't picked up a hit in quite a few days... I can log in but there's no new info.
I'm gonna double check to make sure I didn't delete the code or anything stupid, but I was wondering if anyone else is having technical difficulties.
Edit: Well, nevermind. As soon as I complained about it, the missing hits showed up. I should have complained a couple days ago...
Edit again: A Day later; now they are gone again. Damn, Trackspace really sucks sometimes.
thanks pat. trackspace always seems to loose some hits, what i do now is screengrab each hit or save the page that way i have the ip saved. it is a pain but it is one of the best trackers matching ips. generally your hits come back on anyway at a later time. what does that error message mean anyone? thanks in advance
