I needed oppinions on good free myspace trackers that are legit.
i tried some free ones bu they never emailed me activation and i contacted them.
I currently have Mix&Map- was recommended by a fellow grown up geekster!
I was attracted to it, cuz a lot of people vouched and said it worked well, and it didnt show their icon logo on my
profile page was cool. And it does track. however, it's accurate and shows the date and time, history, and city and IP Address. etc. But, that's all it shows. iT DOESNT SHOW WHICH FRIEND IS VISINTG ME.
See my Myspace profile is set to private so those viewers have to be my friends. But I have many friends in same cities. So it's hard to assume whose who. And some were tracked at cities who are way far away and one in a different state??? WeirD How can this be? unless they use someone else's computer on vacaton, or work computer, im puzzled.
I am looking for a free tracker that has these qualitites:
-EFFICIENT EASY TO USE
-ICON LOGO DOESNT SHOW ON MY PROFILE, OTHERWISE PEOPLE WILL KNOW I HAVE A TRACKER AND TRY TO BLOCK
-**MOSTLY- WHERE I KNOW/AND SEE WHO IS VISINTG MY PAGE, NOT JUST THE IP/CITY. SINCE MY VISITORS ARE MY FRIENDS LIST
AS MY PROFILE IS MARKED TO PRIVATE. i SEEN ONE WHERE IT SHOWS THE VISITORS MYSPACE DEFAULT IMAGE SHOWING AND LISTING
FACTUAL INFORMATION SAYING THEY VIEWED MY PAGE.
IM NOT REALLY GOOD WITH THIS STUFF AND AM THANKFUL FOR A SITE LIKE THIS. I APPRECIATE ANY HELP. GOOD NIGHT TO ALL!

I have been using http://www.web-stat.com and I love it. They give you a 30 day free trial. No one can tell that I have the tracker on my profile. I also have the tracker in my blog. I can see who has read my blogs and if they have read several of them, I can see how long they stayed on each blog and where they went next. The only down side is you can't tell who was on your profile. You have to kind of match people up by when they commented you or mailed you. Once you get them matched up, you are able to edit the entry and put their name in so the next time they show up on your profile...you know who it was. If you have the paid version it does all kinds of other funky things, like page referrals, entry and exit pages, etc.

i tried.. i viewed my profile using my friends page and it didn't work.. it only tells me my own log ins
I'm sorry for making one of these topics but are there any workig ones out there? I heard about the mixmap so can you guys give me details on that please?
Just check www.mixmap.com and some of the threads about it here. And don't ask for password hacks on this site please, we don't allow it.
if you have any kind of server space of your own, you can track visitors to your myspace profile very easily. the downside to it is you can't track friend id's to know exactly who the viewers are. but the upside is you can track 100% of the visits 100% of the time, unless your server is unreliable. and it logs just as much info as most of the trackers out there, date, time, ip address, browser info and the referrer url.
all you do is upload a pic or graphic of some kind (or even a 1-pixel x 1-pixel transparent .gif or spacer) onto your server, then put it somewhere on your profile, preferrably as close to the top as possible. you can also put it in your headline if you have a private profile. anyway, then every time someone views your page, it will make an entry of it in your access logs on your server. it's real simple.
you can also do this with your pics. it's best if you create a 1-pixel x 1-pixel white or transparent .gif in photoshop or any program like that. then in the pic caption, you would just type <img src=" + url to your .gif + "> (obviously with no spaces and delete the plus signs). you can name your .gif something like pic_spacer.gif or pic_tracker.gif. that way when you search your server logs later on, you can differentiate between visits to your profile and visits to your pics. the only thing is you have to track each pic separately. in other words, if you only do this on one pic, it will only log views to that particular pic, not the whole page of pics. so if you want to know who's viewing each and every pic, you would have to have several of the .gifs and have them named like pic_spacer1.gif, pic_spacer2.gif, etc., and put one in each pic caption. and your viewers can't see anything because it just looks like there's no caption. i'm not exactly firing on all eight today, so i hope that makes sense. lol!
another cool thing about using your own server logs is you can even use it to track visitors on your friends' profiles (unless they have their comments hidden). haha! all you do is leave a comment on their page or one of their pics (either a cutesy graphic of some kind or, again, the transparent or 1x1-pixel .gif, just as long as it's hosted on your server). and every time someone views their page or a pic you've commented on, it will make an entry in your access logs. then you can search your logs for any entries that have that particular graphic and see who's viewing their profiles, too. the only thing is since only the most recent 50 comments appear on their profile, you have to be diligent about leaving them comments. otherwise, you will only track people who view their additional comment pages.
Can you please explain in more detail how to send someone a comment with an imbedded tracker so that I may see who is visiting them? I am very new to all of this. I use the space tracker right now and am pleased with the accuracy of the hits but am very interested in what you mentioned here about using my own server. I check myspace via my laptop at home.
I agree with Lady...I use profileviewsplus and trackspace, and while pvp was once excellent, their code was disabled by Myspace so now the visitors profiles dont show up like they used to, where trackspace shows the visitor, plus what URL they used to get to your site, which I like. For example, I found that one person actually typed in www.myspace..blah blah then my actual friend id, so it was someone who was looking just for me. It also shows if the person is already a friend. I love it, and totally recommend it. Another great function is if your profile is private you can put the code in your headline and it will still track, and of course it is invisible whether its in your headline or any other section of the profile.
Hey guys. To be honest, I am a newbie when it comes to these myspace trackers. I am using more than one, as recommended by users on this site.
They are:
(1) Trackspace (which is still having the problem of the hits not showing up).
(2) trakzor.com (works pretty well, but usually only shows the picture if the other person is a member. Otherwise it's just the IP and time/date of visit, along with a satellite map).
(3) http://flawless.da.ru (this one is "iffy"). It is a paid tracker ($5.50 USD per year, I believe). They have contacted me back several times and said they are fool-proof, but when I've tested it with friends on my list, on occasion it will show a random persons profile pic. In my opinion, it is worth a shot since they give you the full for a year at a cheaper price, but I really cannot tell if it is truly that accurate. In actuality, it worked twice so far since it's been running. You have to leave your profile on public though.
~Next up, I tried myspacetops.com where I paid $10 for this tracker and they've yet to contact me back. They kinda lured me in with contests and they said that you can nominate yourself for things like "Hottest guy/girl on myspace," "Best myspace page," "Best song," etc. BEWARE OF SCAM! I am not sure if it really is a scam or not, but since their tracker was not working and they never contacted me back, I was concerned that I got ripped off. Fortunately, you can pay through Paypal which is a good bet if you are unsure. Also, I tried to e~mail them on my own (w/o using their "contact us" forum. It read that my mail came back because "No such account/address exits." I deleted my information from their database with the option to do so.
Like I said...I am a newbie to all of this, but I hope it was somewhat helpful
With the recent changes MySpace made in regards to what you can put in your headline (I believe it can be no longer than a 20 character string without a break now) does TrackSpace still fit in the headline? Like I said, I've never used it in the headline, only the profile and the blog.
"How do you know I'm mad?" asked Alice.
"You must be", said the cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here"
LadyC - My profile is Private, and yesterday I took my MixMap code out of my headline and tried Trackspace again. (I prefer Trackspace but it seemed to have "died" the other day when MySpace made those headline changes.) I tried Trackspace again - was just curious if it happened to be working again) and it seems to be picking up occasional hits. Not all of them, however. And some hits seems to disappear - they show up one minute, then the next minute you log on, they're gone. So I think I'll stick w/ MixMap for now. I would say go ahead and try Trackspace in your headline and see how it works for you. And don't worry, MySpace must've changed something again because the code isn't showing up anymore, it's invisible again.
to MI40: I just posted in the Tracker forums asking for help with the same thing you are talking about, the hits disappearing in Trackspace! I am having the same problem, and I was wondering what the heck was going on, lol......I thought I was doing something wrong......
It's been an on and off problem with them for a while. Every week or so they post an announcement saying they've gotten a new server, and that it will stop happening tomorrow. Not sure which tomorrow they're referring to.....
"How do you know I'm mad?" asked Alice.
"You must be", said the cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here"
Although they aren't as good as they used to be, I'm still a fan of Trackspace. Lately I've heard about a lot of people having problems with the activation email from them, though, so I don't know if you've tried them or not recently.
To get all the info you're looking for, you might want to consider using more than 1 tracker, so you can compare the info. Trackspace will show you the visitor's profile default pic, however, the ID's are based on other Trackspace users, so it's not always accurate, especially for AOL users. what I really like about Trackspace is that it matches up dynamic IP addresses. In other words, if a friend of yours uses an ISP that changes their IP after each log-in, Trackspace will figure that out, and lump all those visits under the same user, instead of leaving you wondering. Also, it's invisible.

I have mine in my "general" box if you'd like to look for it, or see what it looks like in the source code.
"How do you know I'm mad?" asked Alice.
"You must be", said the cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here"
the problem is that i don't know anything about making my own server and all that...
-Moderator edit: no offering of money for "services"-
Again, check mixmap.com. It works for a lot of people so just try it and see if you like it. It's free.
