Tracker for Profile on Private

Forgive me if this has been posted previously, but I didn't have any luck in finding something in a quick search I did the other day...

I have an old profile I have on private and only myself (new profile) added as a friend. Yet, whenever I log into the old profile, it seems as if the profile views counter has increased, yet I've not viewed that profile with my new one (the one that can actually access it).

First, does hitting a "private profile" page (that is, by someone who isn't a friend) increase a profile view?

Second, if that is the case, can a tracker be used on a profile such as that to track those profile hits?

If so, can you recommend which tracker would work best for this situation and where to place the code to capture those profile hits?

Thanks for any assistance you can lend!

People that visit your profile even if they get the "this profile is private" screen still count as a myspace hit. If you use an IP tacker like trackspace in your headline, you can at least track their IP, and if you're really really lucky you might know who it is too.

Thanks, Solid. That's what I was hoping for. I'll give it a shot and see what I can find out.

I do think I know who it is, but this will be some confirmation for me. Smiling

Remember, when you put the tracker code in your headline, you get more hits than you should.  When the code is in your headline, any time your headline shows up, you get a hit.  That means, when someone searches for you by name it comes up.  It also will log a hit every time someone searches through your HS graduating class, and every time someone browses users within your zip code, as well as when they look at your front page.

Definitely.

Since this is my old profile, it's pretty slimmed down and so it shouldn't be able to be found by particulars.

Mainly, I think it is being watched by someone in my past to see if I'll update it (and them not knowing I have a new one).

I've now got it set up in the headline and I tested it out. So far, so good! Smiling

As am I. They seem to be down for a bit, pretty normal for that site lately. Give it a little time and they should be back. I was signed in about an hour or so ago.

TrackSpace.net is a fantastic tracker. It's a free and it can be placed in your headline so you'll get all hits. The instructions for installing it are pretty straight-forward also.
