Clients .torrent

You can move the file(s) to another folder and then start up the torrent. It will ask you to choose the download location again and you just choose the new folder. If the torrent has created a separate folder for the download you'll have to move the whole folder to the new location.

This is how it works for bittornado, could be that it's different for other clients.

Thanks Foam, that hit's it on the head. I have to change a few things, cuase my OS is only a 20 GIG patition, and all files I download are on there.... so as you can imagine, it fills up quick.... I can work it though

I am being a good sharer now that I get what is going on. I usually get it up to 1.5 or 2 before I delete it. But I am using the copy Idea....

The reason I have it set up this way (I learned this with limewire, cause of all the ad ware and viruses), I download to my C drive, then scan the files, and make sure everything is good. THEN I move it to my D dive (my only other partition) and orginize it. Then if soemthing happens to windows, or I get a virus I just re-ghost my C drive and am back running. If I had a better computer (that could hold more drives), or if I had a bigger Hard Drive, I would do 3 partitions.... but for now this works for me.

What programs do you use to get these to dvd.

Currently I use divxtoDVD, shrink and decrypter. Recently I haven't been able to use these on all my dl's any suggestions? I'm pretty new to it though. Just started with the whole "torrent" thing have always used Ares before. Trying out new things now, moving on up if you will. LOL 

For torrents there are all types out there. Some cater to certain types. There are lots of public ones and lots of private (invite only) ones. Here are some of my favorite public ones:

they are TV only. They have very strict rules for a 1:1 ratio. It doesn't matter if you seed the thing for months if you don't have that 1:1 ratio you get booted. Heck my first download they marked my profile (second day in) as: yep they put that exact pic on my profile - nice huh - they pooped on me. Also if you get that so does the person who invited you too. There have been a couple of members from here were banned on that site. They won't let you upload the first month to increase your ratio rather you can buy your way out - pffffff - I don't think so!

Private trackers:

Here's a decent list of private trackers and what they offer: link. In general private trackers offer higher download speeds, earlier access to new content, more rare content and often longer retention of old torrents. For anything that's popular you don't really need private trackers though because it's all over the public sites.

Thats a great find, has most of the top trackers in one spot available for searches.

I'm using the BitTornado client - I used it to download old movies that I can't find anywhere. I'll say this first: I'm new to this Torrent thing. I successfully got "Silent Running" (sci-fi from the 70's) and now, I'm trying to download "The Cowboys" (John Wayne '72). It's stuck at 99.3% and will go no farther. It says zero peers, zero seeds. haven't really gotten into it to try to troubleshoot it so my DL can finish.

(btw...I use LimeWire Pro as some of you do, but anymore the search results are filled with junk.)

.. it's dry as a bone. haha! If it's dried up is there hope of it being able to finish? Should keep everything as it is and try again periodically? It took me a few days to get 695.81 MB... I can wait and try more later.

I don't remember where I found the torrent file. Guess I need to start over.

They are in the same boat as you are I would leave it and hope someone seeds you are too close to just dump it unless you need the space on HD
