The fall like weather is upon most of us with ol'man winter just waiting to unleash his fury! I, for one, am new to this snow/ice weather and would appreciate any helpful household tips to keep a home warm during the winter months, especially a three level home. Do you use thermal window treatments? Throw/area rugs on wood floors? Electric blankets or flannel sheets? Space/floor heaters?
What's your success, secret, and/or helpful tip to keeping your family warm inside and your energy costs down?

Yay! lots of good ideas!
we still have winter for another like 4 months here. LoL. I'm wondering, if i have an apartment...i pay an energy bill each month. this past month it was around 240. pathetic. would it be cheaper to use a space heater?
i'm going to cover my windows with plastic. has that helped much with anyone's bill?
*little do they know...*
