I know just about every one has seen the infomercial, and heard of it, but they are great. I got one (a Magic Bullet Blender thingy) this weekend, and that is all I used all weekend. Making Drinks, Omlets, Dips, Salsa, Cheesy Alfrado, and god knows how many other things. I admit, there is still a limit on what it can do, and they are way off on the "10 second meal" idea. But it does make things a bit easier and fun. I give it a thumbs up and suggets it to every one. EVEN if you only use it for drinks, and cocktails, it's worth it. But with an open mind.... the possibilities are endless, lol.

Does any one else have one?

OMG - best darn laugh I've had in a while girls...yep I know I saw the topic and went OH MY (I know some are scratching their heads going huhhh - ask your wife or g/f) LOL Didn't see that on TV but saw it at a "passion party" (ooh la la).

Well as the the Magic Bullet that your talking about here - I saw that on TV. I have one simular (but it's much bigger) it's called the "Juiceman". I got it about a year ago at Macys (I think it was around $160.) - love it, but yes it's also loud. About once a week we become the smoothie household and the neighbor kids flock over.

Re: The Magic Bullet

I've seen the informercials too - being a single gal, it could be something I'd use. But geez - what production value! The old lady in the housecoat and dangling cigarette, the clueless "sports guy" who hates veggies.... makes me laugh. Also, why are all these gadgets being hawked by Aussies these days?

I do have a specific question about the Bullet - how noisy is it? Kinda seemed to be a bit loud. Is it coffee grinder loud, food processor loud or is it like hand mixer loud? Trying to give some options here for comparison. Could you talk over it without shouting?

IT's pretty loud, I would say like a mixer or blender loud....

Re: The Magic Bullet (Jack LaLane anyone?)

Thanks jjbova - the only reason I'd buy it would be if it was quieter than my Cuisinart Duet (base with both a blender attachment and a mini processor, another perfect gadget for the bachelor/spinster). My newish KitchenAid hand mixer is nearly silent - it's amazing. But I don't need anything else that sounds like my coffee grinder.

GuG has once again helped provide good info - now I'll no longer wonder about the Magic Bullet! I could tell the infomercial people were shouting above it when it was on, but you never know about TV.

Now I wonder about the Jack LaLane Power Juicer. Gosh - that's an informercial that makes sense! But I think all juicers are noisy - their claim that it's quieter than others makes me wonder. I'm assuming it's still pretty darn loud.

Yeah, It's not too loud, depending on what's in it. When I make drinks, and first start the ice it's loud, but once the ice get's pretty cruched,. it's not to bad.  I know with my omlets the other day it wasn't to bad.... You will know it's running, but it won't make you cringe at how loud it is.

Re: The Magic Bullet

Yeah, you can make Virgin ones that are good too. We have a few friends who don't drink, and they like the shakes and smoothies it makes. I got mine at Wal-mart for $55, I saw them on TV for $99 (but you get an extra set free, so it's really only 45 I guess).....

Maye it's a waste of money but I am loving it. I just thought I would share my joy with every one. It's great for Bachlors (for those single people out there). It may not be for every one, but if you thought about getting it.... I vote for yes.
