However, one decade seems to have made such a huge impact on the fashion charts that it just won't go away. The 1980's. Do you agree? Besides having produced some of the best music, clothing, and ...phrases, hair was also pretty memorable.
Hair: Feathered hair, mohawks, crimped, side pony's, headbands, 80's metal band teased hair!
Clothes: Tight Stonewashed Jeans, Zippered Legs, 3/4 Length Legging, Legwarmers, Scrunch Socks, Exercise Gear, Super Tight Minis, Colored Hose w/Rips, Spandex, Tight Leather Pants, Bright Colors, Spandex, Tight Stonewashed Jeans, Jammers, Parachute Pants, Corduroy Pants.
Accessories: Clock Necklaces, Friendship Stuff, Many Swatches, Swatch Protectors, Plastic Charms, Hoop Earrings, Slouch Sock, High Tops, Puff Paint, Safety Pins, Beads, Slap Bracelets, Rubber Bracelets, Jellies, Big Hair Bows.
What would you love to see return from the 80's? Do you still have some of your 80's clothing hiding in the closet? I do! I'm guilty in the hoop earring department. Call the fashion police...stat!

thank goodness for the love! i was about to do a GuG name change again! and yes, i have graduated to the jaw clips, but the banana clip doesn't hurt when i lean against a chair, couch, pool raft, driver's seat etc. when sitting upright or lying down.

you know whats cool is how actors that played lamos in the eighties have pretty cool shows now. that guy from 'cant buy me love' that the girls like from greys anatomy, the guy ducky from molly ringwalds movie is now in 'two and half men', and then theres neil patrick harris (sorry wasnt a doogie fan

The best thing about the 80's => Van Halen with David Lee Roth. Besides that and the cocaine, the rest of the decade sucked. :) Hahaha!

Vanilla Ice (Robert Van Winkle) lives in my neighborhood now (yeah currently). I see him around town with his family and have been to a number of parties with him.

How about the not quite legwarmers thing, where the girls wore 3 or 4 pairs of different colored slouch socks with high tops, and capri length leggings, so there was an inch and a half of skin showing between the top of the socks and the hem of the pants. Of course, those high tops HAD to be LA Gear..... Good times.....

OMG... I loved slouch socks... yes they were BAD BAD BAD fashion, oh and if you wore like 3 pairs, red, white, blue on one foot, then blue, white, red on the other. And yes, HAD to be LA gear, with both color laces that were impossible to lace the first time around!

ugh! they're back in full swing. i was at the philly airport this past week and i seen a chick with a hot mini on, an itty bitty sweater around a t-shirt, and the most shocking yellow spiked heels ever, with a pair of striped leg warmers. and it actually looked cute, sassy, and rather hot!

hmmm not sure, off the top of my head id say spike wrist bands and collars. oh and actual charging it skateboarding. i nearly died when my niece and nephew both wanted rip-sticks this past x-mas. i couldn't believe they didn't want real skateboards. oh i remember a clothing. cavaricci pants and rayon/silk shirts do-oh!

OH I so agree on the music - the best! hummm fashion thats a hard one I guess some of the jewelry is OK but I dunno I'm one that really doesnt change around her jewelry that often. Even my ear rings - I've worn the same ones for 7+ years (diamond drops). I take them out to clean and that is it. Some of the denim from then was cool. I had one denium skirt that I would love to have again -it had a cool print to it and oh and a cool denium jacket too. Yeah I would love to have that jacket back.
OK tuna you forgot a few things - neon color clothes, those vanilla ice pants and sweatshirts cut and worn off one shoulder.
HA I think we should find some of our 80's pics and post them - that would be a good laugh. Any of the guys sporting mullets?
LOL no mullet here, but I did have the John Taylor blond bangs (I'm a brunette) and then did this "thing" where one side of my head was clipped pretty close, the other side was long, and the back was asymmetrical from the short side to the long with a blond tail behind my left ear...
Homecoming outfit was a pair of pleather pants and a blue/black leopard spotted shirt with zippers and an armful of black rubber bracelets with the silver ones mixed in (yes I was a punk tomboy).
Also had some of those darn beads you would twist together in all sorts of ways with the big clip thing that held them together...
As far as clothes hidden in the closet...I still have my levi's denium jacket, the bleach tie-dyed denium skirt, and the awesome "bon jovi" slouch boots with the tassels and fake snakeskin print trim...
omfg....the mullet! when it first came out in the early 80's as a style for women, it was called the bi-level i believe. everyone had it, but me. i was still in my spiral perm stage i guess!

In high school I wanted a spiral perm, but my hair was (is) too coarse to hold it. I had to go with the big layered perm. I have a pic from an outside dog show, mid-July in the south...oh boy talk about BIG hair! I will NEVER do that again!!!
I never did it, but did any of y'all do the Bo Derek "10" braids? Three girls from school did and it looked good on them!
Oh I had the bi-cut and then I also had the bad spiral perms too tuna. I was also one who would get up at 5am to put my hair in hot rollers everyday before school. Big huge hair and lots of hair spray was in. The cheaper the hairspray the better it held (aqua net). Then remember those "glamor shots" where you would try and look all hot for the camera - those were big in the 80's. Anyone besides me do those pics?

aqua-net by the case. it was like spray on schlak! glamor shots ....whenever i could afford it. but also did the "at home do it yourself" glamor shots. lmfao! loved my 2" hot rollers. still have them and they still work after all this time. still smells when it heats up as well!
