Does anyone have a recommendation for a great place/doctor to remove my tat? I'm in the NY Metro area. Thanks!

Just to give you some perspective before you talk to a doc. I work for doctors who remove tattoos. Two basic choices are laser and stage excision.
Stage excision is getting it cut out little by little until it's all gone. If it's small you won't have to do too many stages, maybe even just one. Down side is a linear scar.
Lasers can take a while to work. Sometimes 8 or more treatments to get optimal results. Optimal doesn't necessarily mean completely gone. Laser hurts. Instead of a linear scar you might get hypopigmented scars. ie white spots.
Both are expensive. Both leave some type of scar. Make sure you ask how often the doctor does this type of procedure. How was the doctor trained? What board certifications do they hold? Any doctor can do laser, make sure you get one who was properly trained.
I don't want to die without any scars.
Have you looked into this stuff yet?

I stumbled over that site some time ago..I'm not planning on removing anything anytime soon, but I was wondering if that stuff actually works...I'm skeptical. Do you have some experience with it, LadyC?
Not yet, but since my father had been tattooed for radiation and is now finished, he's complaining about the "X" and wants to try it.

Wow I'm sorry about your dad, LadyC..must really suck to have a tat (even if small) and not really have desired it! Though I hope it helped his therapy.
Please let us know the results,ok? I'd really like to know if that stuff works. Sure would be cheaper & painless!
Thanks, he's had it rough the last few weeks. There are actually 2, since they had to hit him from front and back. I think he forgot about the one on his back, though, he keeps complaining about the one on his chest. I'm ordering the stuff tomorrow when I get paid, I figure worst case, it does nothing, right? OK, worst case, he winds up with 2nd and 3rd degree chemical burns from it.... Either way, I'll let ya know.
