Just wanted to say thanks to the GUG community. Like so many people here....I was "burned" in a relationship and with only myspace and a private profile to try to find out what the heck happened. I didn't want to just throw out a message and come across desperate to her. With the help of a tracker that was recommended here I found she was still hitting my "myspace" page. Then with some additional help here found some more vital info that she had on her page and felt comfortable enough to send a quick note to her. Two days later....she invited me as a friend on her page and we are at least talking again. I doubt this will turn into more than friendship, but without knowing a couple of things first, I would never have taken the chance. It turns out she wasn't trying to hide from me but someone else. She just asssumed I didn't want anything to do with her. Everyone here has their own story, I am just glad to be able to share mine.

Oh Welcome, Majorgeek!
I'm glad something good came out of it.
It's always nice to hear something positive like that. We're so use to the usual drama about somebody's baby mama/baby daddy, ex girlfriend, ex boyfriend, cheating spouse...about blah blah blah and they need to see their private profile, but can't...cuz of whatever! 
It's really nice to finally hear something good for a change!

Thank you for sharing that! It just shows, not everything is what it seems, and not everything is done for the reasons people think. My page is currently private. The simple fact is, I've been sending out resumes, and I don't think a prospective employer needs to know quite that much about me. I'm certain there are people who think it's private to keep them personally from seeing. I'm glad you were able to find out that it wasn't you she was trying to avoid.
