Strawberry Shortcakes recipe

2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick mix
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Sweetened sliced strawberries
Whipped topping or whipped cream

Heat oven to 425 degrees F.

Stir Bisquick mix, milk, sugar and butter until soft dough forms. Drop by 6 spoonsful onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Split warm shortcakes. Fill and top with strawberries and whipped topping.

Buy frozen strawberries. Let them defrost and then I sweeten the strawberries before making shortcakes so sugar has time to dissolve for 3 to 4 pounds of strawberry's I use 1 cup of sugar. I also let it sit in the refrigerator for about 5 hours so the sugar makes the strawberries nice and sweet. It's the best to have right after it comes out of the oven.
Hope you enjoy.
