If you are still waiting for your refund to arrive and you are getting anxious, you can find out where it is. It doesn't matter if you told the IRS to mail you a check, or to deposit it directly into your bank account, its status can be verified. Wait for seven days after you have e-filed and 4 to 6 weeks if you mailed in your return.
Where's My Refund? will ask you to enter your Social Security Number, your filing status [single, married-separate or joint, head of household, qualifying widow(er)] and the total dollar amount of the refund you are expecting.
The IRS website is safe and secure and requests that you close your browser when you are finished.
