Gosh I feel like an idiot. Been using this browser for so long and I didn't know this stuff!
1st -- didn't know that a middle mouse click opens a link in a new tab! I've always done it via right click menu... And middle clicking on a tab will close it, which can be used in conjunction with disabling the close x on tabs as sometimes I close tabs when trying to switch to them if there are a lot of tabs open and the tab size has decreased.
2nd -- You can highlight sections of a page, right click and select "view source selection". No more scrolling through all the myspace source code on a page to check certain sections. Like looking for trackers in comments or other sections...now you just have to view the source of what you selected.....boy will that make things quicker!
3rd -- No more clicking the edit>find in this page to search for words on a page. Instead go to tools>options>advanced> general> accessibility and tick the box for "search for text when I start typing". Now you just type the word your looking for and the search dialog on the status bar automatically opens up with your text in it! Sweeeeeet! (How did I not see this before today????)
4th -- deathly afraid of trackers? I was using ImglikeOpera extension, w/o realizing Firefox had built in controls. Tools>options>content Check box for load images automatically - you add an exception for myspace or set it for a particular myspace url to block images from loading, so no unidentified trackers will load. Or go into about:config and edit the value for permissions.default. images 1=allows all images, 2=blocks all images, 3= blocks 3rd party images, like trackers and comment images.
5th -- you DON'T have to shut down Firefox to change your themes. Edit extensions.dss.enabled and change value to true. Now you can switch themes w/o a shutdown
Well these little tidbits will make my new years browsing a lot more enjoyable! Happy New Year everyone!
