Am I the only one having a problem with Myspace not wanting to load? All the other sites I hit load fine but I can't even get to the login page on Myspace before it times out most of the time. The few times I did get that far the page loaded incorrectly. Anybody?
Slow load/no load
Ooops, almost forgot
If you don't want to have to remember to empty your Temporary internet files that includes all that data and pictures and bots on those fancy smanchie Myspace pages about once every other day (when things start to get slow) you can
1) Click on tools
2) click on Internet options
3) click on Advance
4) Scroll down to Security
5) Check "Empty Temporary Internet files on Exit"
5) Click on the "Apply" buttton
6) Click on the "Ok" button
1) Click on "Tools"
2) Click on Internet Options
3) Click on Browsing History "Delete"
4) Click on "Delete
5) Optionally (especially if you surf via the search bar) click on "Delete History"
6) Click "Close" then Click on Browsing History "settings"
7) Click on check on newer versions of pages "Automatically" if it isn't so, and bring the disk space used down to 10 MB
Click on the "store history" down arrow and bring count down to 0 days (or type 0 in the space)
9) press "okay" to exit History settings and "ok" to exit internet options
10 ) Install Spybot S&D ( http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html ) and Advast ( http://www.avast.com/index.html ) and run then (Alternatively run you antivirus and anti spyware programs)
More likely then not the Spybot S&D will find adware and pop up software most associated with surfing Myspace...specifically Mediavue, TrnaASuarrus, Sidekick surfer, and the like that load with those "Free page Designs" peopla are too eager to use instead of learning htnl and building their Page design from scratch.
Best thing to do is to leave the Myspace page as is as it loads the quickest that way and stay away from the "Free designs" that inbed their advertising and Adware into the Page to advertise to your friends and family and passing viewers....infecting their computer in the process.
I did that, I even reconfigured my startup so alot of unneeded "stuff" didn't run on startup (my 19 year old daughter uses this computer too). I don't know what the deal is, it seems to come and go.
But, I've decided it's Myspace because all the other sites I go to seem to load just fine.
Do you have alot of tabs open? Sometimes that can slow it down. Also if you have alot of programs running in behind. You would be surprised how many programs you have running on your PC at all times with out you even knowing it that you don't need to have running at that moment unless you need them. To check to see what you have running do a "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" and click on the process tab up top. That will show you what your PC has running at that time. I find it's best to try and keep it under 40.

A wise girl knows her limits but a woman knows she has NONE!
When I clicked on home early this morning, it took forever to load. Thus keeping me from editing my page and using alot of features I wanted to do--this happened right in the middle of trying to change my layout.
**The solution I discovered is to log into myspace with one of my other myspace profiles that I have. (I logged into one of my other myspace profiles on a different browser--I use IE and Firefox). For some reason, the profile I was trying to edit wouldn't let me click on home on one of the browsers. But using my other profile on the other browser allowed me to click on home and it loaded very quickly. So, when the home page loaded very quickly, I copied the first part of the url (the info in the address bar at the top of the browser) and pasted it into my other browser's url (minus the part about mytoken). Then the home page loaded immediately and I was able edit my layout that I was trying to do in the first place.
That may sound a little confusing. So a easy backup plan to use in case myspace loads very slowly while you are in the middle of something important, is to have a wordpad or word document saved of the address urls of certain functions you want to use. So you can just paste them in. (another thing I was unable to do due to the slow loading, was that I couldn't even view my own profile. So, I went to someone elses page and viewed their profile and then in the address bar I deleted their myspace ID and inserted mine--and I was able to immediately see my profile.)
The address bar can be very helpful more than expected--its also where most of the tricks and codes are used
