Sanjaya.....he's got to go....

I'm definitely glad that he's gone. I'm sure he's a nice kid and all, but his singing.. just.. no. Bad.

I'm curious though, if the judges didn't like him all that much (and he obviously can't sing), why did they cast him in the first place?

I am soooooo glad that he is gone!!!!  But I did have to feel just a little bad when he started crying!  Oh well he shouldn't have been there that long anyways.  oh and I would have been pissed if they kicked of the Bee Bop kid instead!!!!

Unless I read wrong, it looks like Sanjaya's reign of terror on Idol has come to an end at last. It took long enough...I was almost beginning to believe he might actually make it to the finals...ugh...oh well, he's off now.

That's it...............................I can no longer watch IDOL anymore.  He does not deserve to be there and is essentially knocking out people who do belong.  It doesn't matter from week to week if this kid changes his hair, grows a mustache, dresses up like a girl or even shaves his head....he can't sing!  That's the bottom line.  There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it!  

I'm now happy that I'll only be able to watch 2 more weeks of this crap...hopefully I won't be able to watch it while in Kuwait on TV!  Trust me when I say that I'll be logging on to see who wins, but that's it!

No one did well last night...but Sanjaya didn't sound too bad...

Only a few hours until we find out who is gone.... I wasn't a fan of the "spanish singing" Sanjya.... but it wasn't as bad as normal. As for the new look.... well.... at least it's a halfway normal or more "grown up" look. But I am still rooting for him to go.... he knocked out my Gine, lol

So who is watching tonight?

Yep, I saw it this morning!!!  People out there are auctioning off his name for domain url websites.  In fact, there's TONS of stuff on Ebay for him!!!  What a shame!!!  I guess that there's money to be made everywhere and w/ anything.

Sanjaya is still there because of teeny boppers...there is no other explaination...little girls, (and boys?) love him!! 

I honestly think he's there money card right now. Think about it. They said they had the largest amount of votes in American Idol History last night. Sanjaya at this point is a freakin household name. Everyone either knows who he is, or is now tuning into Idol to see why everyone is talking about him...It's turned into a really sad joke.

And Haliey is just sticking around anymore for eye candy. I was sad to see Gina go, she didn't deserve to get the boot this early...

He won't quit. I still say Idol has it rigged for him to stay, I mean, I have never ever ever ever talked to any one that has voted for him, or even liked him. I understand there are the ones of the "vote for the worst" website and all.... but that shouldn't be that many compaired to all the fans the other people had. Like Gina, she was amazing singer.... and she losst to a kid that can't carry a tune if you put a gun to his head.... something isn't right baout it.

Hunger Strikes, for crying out loud?? What's next? I saw a shirt today with Sanjaya hair that said *Byebya Sanjaya* good grief!

There is no way that he can possibly make it much farther, there are a couple of really good singers this year and he just isn't one of them. I never vote but I do watch the show and if it comes down to it, I will vote for everyone else except him as many times as humanly possible. It just blows my mind that he wasn't even in the bottom three?!?!? Simon has already said he will quit the show if he wins, (even though he has a five year contract or something due to a lawsuit.)
I just think the whole thing is crazy.

So here it is, another Idol show, and me, yelling at the TV again!  How much longer is this charade going to continue on for Sanjaya?  I guess all I can do is just sit here and shake my head....

Did anyone see the Bill O'Reilly show about the legal ramifications of Sanjaya's success? So we have Howard Stern encouraging people to vote for him and sites like that "vote for the worst" one trying to sway the results with malicious intent. Malicious intent meaning affecting the voting in a way not intended by the producers. They could argue free speech - no one is forcing anyone to do anything. But they are interfering with the show's concept.

Our local morning news showed a snippet of the O'Reilly show with the lawyer discussing this and the local anchor suggested something that could get him fired (it's the local FOX affiliate). He mentioned the possibly of a clause in the American Idol contract. There could be something like "Producers reserve the right to override the voting." One, the producers of Idol are not stupid. There's a fairly good chance they thought about this and added a clause like that to every contract presented to these kids. Two, this means that Sanjaya has no chance of winning. Of course they'll keep him around as long as they can - he draws viewers like a train wreck. The producers probably aren't enforcing that clause right now if there is one, let people vote for the worst at this early stage of competition. But if Sanjaya is still there when it gets to the top two, he won't win. Period.

That is, if the producers were smart enough to include their right to override in the contract. But think about it - and I am not an avid Idol watcher but I ask you this - hasn't there always been a Sanjaya in the top twelve? Yep, Chicken Little was one. But there's always one kid who most people agree shouldn't be there, isn't there? It's not "reality TV" anymore, gang. The "reality" we see is what they want us to see - for dramatic or comedic effect.

With all the riders and demands listed on Smoking Gun, they should really get their hands on an AI contract.

I think I heard this on The View yesterday. If the producers don't reserve the right to override, the most valid, honest way to determine a winner is to have people put their money where their mouth is. Have each finalist (final two) record a single, have it downloadable on iTunes and the website for a buck and have the kid with the most downloads crowned the winner. No one is going to pay to download crap. Then the sites that try to sway voters and Stern won't have as much as an effect, when messing with the system hits viewers in the pocket.

sorry to embark upon a discussion upon which I have absolutely no knowledge (I didnt follow this season besides the auditions that everyone watches!!!) But reading over some comments I read where a few people referanced the top 3...then at that exact moment a commercial came on for the show, and they are only on the top 9? I probably misunderstood the direction the comments were going...but I thought it was all voted on each week?? My appologies again if Im reading into everything wrong!! I was just wondering if it really isnt how its portrayed. 

The fact that he didn't even make the bottom 3 is a kick to the face of someone like Phil.  Personally, I think Phil has the strongest male voice in the competition (Blake is still my favorite).  This just isn't fair.
