Saint Patrick's Day is coming up in just a few weeks so share your favorite St. Patty's day drinks and how to make them! I personally like those green milkshakes from McDonalds, but I'm sure you guys have a few better ones..

Irish trashcan punch

it's not really Irish, but it is green and it will kick your you know what.

2 Big jugs of green Hawaiian Punch
1L vodka
1L Everclear
various cut up fruit

While I don't use a trashcan, a big glass jar with a spicket (sp?) works great.

we always have a martini bar available when we are entertaining - this one is usually a hit:

Emerald Isle

1 oz gin

1 tsp creme de`menthe (green)

2 quick dashes of bitters

1 mint leave

  1. pour these 3 ingredients into your favorite cocktail shaker with ice cubes
  2. shake well
  3. strain into a chilled martini glass
  4. garish with a mint leave

 

Tuna...the other white meat!

Apple Martini

1 oz Vodka
1 oz Sour Apple Pucker
1 oz Apple Juice

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cherry!

OOOOOO.. I didn't think of my favorite green cocktail

The Midori June Bug

1 oz midori
1/2 oz coconut rum
1/2 oz banana liquor
2 oz sweet & sour mix
2 oz pineapple juice


shake in shaker and pour over ice

 I had the right to remain silent... but I didn't have the ability.

wow i tried this Midori June Bug and had to come back and say it is AWESOME!!

definite summer drink too! I think I am gonna try it with a crushed ice variation for out at the pool!

Irish Car bombs

1/2 Pint Guiness

1 shot bailyes

1 shot Jameson Irish Whisky

drop shot glass in pint glass and chug.

follow with a chaser if need be.... Some say kaluha makes a good chaser for it

 

Irish Shots

Simple: just Shoot Some Jameson and chase it with Guiness

 

Irish beers

Guiness

St. Paullies Girl

and

Guiness

 

I love St. Patties day..... The Guiness is Always Fresher, and Half off at the pub I go to LOL

 EDIT:  

Forgot the other way to make the Car bomb

1/2 Pint Guiness

1/2 bailys

1/2 Kaluha

drop shot glass in Guiness and chug,  Tastes real chocalatie and kinda of like  coffee too....

More Irish Beers:

Smithwicks

Harp

Add Guinness and you can make a 'Black and Tan' or a 'Half and Half'.

Oh, and St. Paulie is a German beer... 

 

Also, crappy beer dyed green is still crappy beer... I don't like to go out on the big drinking holidays, it's like amateur night. Lucky me though, I'll have to put more beer on the shelf... ugh. And this new job actually make me crave the junkier beer for some reason.

I posted this last year for Patty's Day......Thought I would give it an encore... because it is just that good:

Homemade Irish cream Liqueur

ingredients:

 

1/2 C honey
1 C heavy cream
1 1/2 C Irish whiskey
1/2 teaspoon instant coffee

 

This is best if you make it a few days ahead and refrigerate shaking it a few times a day.  Has a refrigerator life of two weeks.

 

Top with homemade whipping cream and a shake of cinnamom, nutmeg or cocoa. You can also drizzle honey ontop if you like your Irish coffee sweet.

yes! i am so delighted that you have done such - - otherwise i would have completely over looked it. i can't begin to tell you how much bailey's we go through at my house. always a winner for a nightcap, great to add a shot or two to a coffee, latte`, cappuccino, drizzle over vanilla bean ice cream, and i could go on and on. thanks mucho Green Kiss.

Grasshopper

1/2 oz white creme de cacao
1/2 oz green creme de menthe
2 oz cream

add these in a shaker with ice, shake and strain into a cocktail or martini glass...

It's green... it's pretty... it's good.

I like to put breyers vanilla ice cream in a blender and add some fresh fruit a tad bit of milk and a bit of green food coloring and viola! There ya go patty green smoothie(except  dont like ice in mine)
