 Often, when your computer crashes or spontaneously combusts, you end up losing thousands of hours of downloaded songs.  This can take a huge chunk out of your time and wallet.  Especially because iTunes wants to restore your iPod to match your computer's library (which is now non-existant!)  I made a small PDF to explain how to get the songs off of your iPod and onto your new clean-slate iTunes library.   If you have any questions, make sure you ask!

good instructions... altho too bad it's on a PC..

also, it doesn't hurt to backup your files regularly.. HD's are just trouble waiting to happen.

Good info.  I don't use an iPod or have ever used iTunes but have a neighbor that just got a new iPhone and needed me to show him how to work it along with the iTunes interface.  This will come in handy when the eventual crash happens to him.

I believe in double-safety.  I have my mp3 collection (now 95GB) stored on 2 external HDD's.  One is accessed via a desktop shortcut for playing through a pair of high-power studio reference monitor speakers, the other HDD is a backup of the backup.

Very sweet information - I only wish I saw this like 3 months ago Frown.  I will defiantly save this for next time.  Oh coarse now that I have the information I will probably not need it, doesn't it always work that way.
