Hello everyone
Does anyone know of a way that you can delete your personal information from search engines?
What i mean is when you type a name into google, is there anyway that these results can be deleted?
Any help would be greatly appreciated xx

Thanks for the reply deadshot, unfortunately it doesn't work for me though
.
I have to hold down my Shift key and then hit the Delete key to do this.
Hello pat
I've contacted google numerous times and they haven't done anything about it
x
Hiya, i'm trying to make my information unsearchable to anyone, is this possible?
you will most likely have to contact google for that. if it is in the google "phonebook" there is a way to do that. there is a thread on this issue..click here.
Are you trying to delete what you've already typed? Or make your information unsearchable to everyone?
If you're just trying to get rid of the information that you've logged, if you have Firefox you can dump your cache and cookies by deleting your private data... if IE then go into your Options and delete your cookies and temp files, and change the settings so that it doesn't remember what you type.

Mine doesn't seem to work either
.
I'm hitting the down arrow, nothings being higlighted, then the delete button and it doesn't work.
Any other ideas?
Hmmm... The strangest part of all this is I know EXACTLY what you're talking about, but none of my computers do it. (I've used computers that have many times) Wonder what I have set different?
Both my home computers and my work computer I need to type my entire search into the search bar.... I like it that way, and if it somehow changes, I plan on blaming you guys for jinxing me! :)
wow thanks thats very useful. i always wondered how to do this but wasn't sure how.
you could clear all your history including your google searches by going to control panel then internet options then delete your history from there.. hope that works or you could always fix your "delete key" (j/K)
Just type the first letter into the search engine and hit the down arrow to highlight it and hit the delete key(not the backspace key).
humm.. that didnt work for me.. wonder why? and yes, im hitting the right keys, its just not doing anything... sad, cause i too would like to get rid of some of those
Hmm, I don't know what the problem could be, your delete key does work, right?
as far as i know
im not sure what i can "test" it on.. but my computer is new and all the other keys work lol
Most likely it does, to test it just type something in and it works like backspace but it's the opposite. So it deletes something in front of the cursor instead of behind it.
ok, it does work, but for some reason (im doing google here) i put in a letter, a list comes up, i use the down arrow to highlight the searches, i hit delete, but nothing gets deleted...
That's very weird, that's how I do mine.
Have you tried setting your History settings to 0 days? eg under "days to keep pages in History" select 0. Don't know if it'll help but it might.
