Ok, yes i cook for 6 on a regular basis, but i cook EASY simple stuff. Here's the deal we have a potluck dinner to go to this weekend with the people from his work (aka, all other Doctors). I need help figuring out what i can cook for 8 doctors. Yes i'm one of only 2 "normal" people in the group. Myself and one of the Drs husbands.
PotLuck dinner help!
Do you have a pressure cooker? This can make a beautiful delicious meal out of really inexpensive cuts of meat. You could get an inexpensive chuck roast or eye of the round and do a delicious pot roast. (I always throw in a can of tomato soup to make it different and people love it.)
If you don't have one of those you could roast a big pork shoulder for like 10 bucks that will be delicious. I inject it with hispanic seasonings and people go mad for it.
Or if you're short on time, you can do a pasta fagioli which is quick and easy. Make it a little extra special and tasty by tossing in some pepperoni, sausage, or prosciutto (or all three!)
If you give me some more ideas on what you might be looking for (like leaning more toward a casserole type thing, or prefer beef, chicken, pork, seafood etc) I'll have more to go on.
there is a great web site called www.allrecipes.com, you can search for main dish and cooking style (potluck). The best part is when you find a recipe you like you can alter the serving size, typically it is 4 servings, and it will adjust the recipe for you. Personal taste suggestions would be:

Hope this helps
I love that site, I use it all the time for bread machine recipes! Very user friendly, and their formula to change serving size works well. I have an odd sized bread machine, only 1.5 lb, so I have to shrink 2 lb recipes fairly often, they always come out just fine.
"How do you know I'm mad?" asked Alice.
"You must be", said the cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here"
Ok sorry...
Main dish, there will be an oven if needed, and we're good on the diets. Everyone eats everything. Except for me, I'm the picky eater LOL, and someone is already making baked ziti (which btw, i make a KICK ASS one, but oh well)
Not too much money, we're poor (he's still in residency LOL)
Well are you looking for a main dish, side dish, dessert? How much $ are you willing to spend on ingredients? Will there be an oven available to warm stuff up or do you need to cook in a crockpot type appliance? Are there dietary, or religion based restrictions? (Many doctors are other nationalities or Jewish) We need more info girl!
