Parkour/Free-running

Has anyone heard of it? I'm a traceur [Parkour practitioner] for almost 2 years now. I realize that is has been in this country for about 6 years or so and still not many people know about it. Parkour on Wikipedia.org It has been featured in some movies recently. Casino Royale and Live free or die hard...It even has it's own movie, called District B13, Just wanted to start a discussion about it and maybe shed more light onto this relatively underground movement. I've seen a bunch of stuff on you tube as well as the stuff from Casino Royale. It's so crazy! For a short guy I've got some good jumping skills but I've got nothing on you guys. My best friend and I like to jump over and off stuff both on foot and on skateboards. We usually reference Parkour when we're doing it. Now I'm got to head over to Youtube now that I'm thinking about it. "I'm just like you only shorter."

That is nuts!!! What burns me is that I did this from like half the distance of the fall that I'm seeing in these videos...and broke my foot (recently). Should definitely come with a warning. Free software is a matter of liberty, not price. To understand the concept, you should think of free as in free speech, not as in free beer.http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html |
