I'm looking for another tracker to back up the one that I already have. It doesnt matter if it only shows the IP because i already have a good one. But I don't want it to show on my webpage that says *you have been tracked* I have had trakzor & trackerlicious and they both pop up....
So how about some other good ideas??

"Thanks for the mac badge, Hubby!"
how do i find a tracker for my myspace and what box do i past it in pls help. i dont know alot about computers.
thanks so much
There is a number of trackers out there and when you sign up with them they will show you where to put the code and they'll give you the code (each is different). Trackspace.net is free and it's a good first start but you'll find alot of hits will be unidentified and that can be a pain. A really good one is profiletracker.us but it's not free - it's $5.00 a month (well worth it in my opinion, I have it and love it)

Has anyone tried "ProfileViewsPlus"? It looked pretty good, it's free, BUT...but...for some reason the password (which I need to activate it) isn't coming through to my (AOL) email....so I can't complete the activation. I'm interested to know how other people who've used it feel about it before I try to figure out how to get past the password issue (which would probably mean creating an email account outside of my AOL)
~Thanks

Hey, I have PVP and mixmap. I like them both for different reasons. PVP tracks more hits to my profile than mixmap, and saves those hits for longer then 7 days; but mixmap now has the option of editing the "unknown" to the name of people you know are linked to teh ip address logged, and gives info on IP addresses with DNS info.
About the code problem with PVP, for those of you who are having problems with it: update the code and you'll be fine. My account is still logging hits every day. The only drawback is that it no longer seems to identify visitors by usernames--only IP addresses are registered. It used to do it well, and not just for PVP members. But for some reason, it's not doing so anymore.
I'm going to add trackspace, as per a lot of your suggestions. Doesn't hurt to have another backup, huh?
I've had ProfileViewsPlus for a while and I have to say MixMap is much better for a free site. They also give you the benefit of choosing whether or not you want your tracker to be seen. There are 4-5 different options from memory. ProfileViewsPlus was okay, but I just don't use it much anymore. It didn't tell me anymore that MixMap.
I also use trackspace.net which is also free. The benefit of this is they apparently can tell you how the user found your profile ie. from friends list or a search link. How they do this I am not sure as I was told that java script is required to accesss that info and MySpace doesn't allow java. The only problem is I find their IP tracking quite inaccurate.
Just a warning to anyone who doesn't know, DON'T use whosonmyspace.com!! It is a sham and I think it is how I got phished! I tried to put in so called required details several times over and it keeps bouncing back to the login page. Not good.
I had that one, it worked great for me for about 2 days. Then it was filtered by Myspace & that was the end of that tracker! lol....Use Trackspace you'll have better luck
Thanks CM and little miss dior! There are so many and it seems to be hit or miss with many of them. I appreciate your input, it's much better than stumbling through them all on my own.
...I've added Trackspace, thanks for that tip too!

I used it a while back. It was only so-so for catching hits, but I ended up taking it off because the code kept getting filtered by MySpace. I don’t even know if it works anymore.
I recommend Profiletracker. Also, if you don’t want the *you have been tracked*, take it out of your Trakzor code. Look for the gif link and delete it or put in another pic link. Keep the referring link.
Okay is there anyway you could just give me the link for how its suppose to exactly look? bc when i edit it. It doesnt seem to work.
Are there any free ones?
CreateBlog and Trackspace aren't too bad... and they are free!
Do you know where I can get these? Please its important. Thank you so Much.
Just go to those tracker sites, or whichever one(s) you choose, and they’ll walk you through the registration process. If you have any further tracker questions, feel free to ask or search. GUG is loaded with know-how!
thank you sooo much!
I have used several trackers in the past and I use Profiletracker.........it has never missed a beat. I pay the money.....I have a stalker to keep an eye on. Also, my old myspace was hacked....I will always use a tracker now.
Okay I have tried this without the string of lines & with the string except for the gif attchment. I'm not tracking anyone on it at all....
Hehe, in lots of cases the picture that says "you've been tracked" or whatever IS the tracker file. That is the case with trakzor too so if you remove it you won't be tracking anyone. But you can easily hide it by making the picture code like this: <img src="http://www.blablabla.com/shdfsa.gif" border="0" height="0" width="0">
People will only be able to see it then if they view the page without styles.
This is some good information from bottlebob!!!!
I take the code from createblog and I change all the pixel sizes to 1, zero may work as well but I cant recall at the moment.
the thing is that there is not option to chane the height or width, theres only one on there and its for the border and its already set to "0"
You have to modify the code they gave you, put in the height and width yourself.
Okay ignore the comment below, ifigured it out by replacing the code to everywhere but the stupid thing is still not working!!
I'm doing something wrong, just not sure what
Cancel that. You can tell it's freakin Friday the 13th here!! lol....MY computer crashed in all of this & I had to call Verizon & got a whack job that screwed it up evenmore!! I can laugh now, but I was fired up earlier....
anywayz, to make it a short story, when I FInally got back online the tracker is working thanks to Bottlebob!!
You Rock!!
dear lord!!! i was wondering what the frick i was doing wrong!!! GRRRRR!
so just change the border, height, and width all to 0?
thanks for replying bottlebob and knowing your shtuff!! heehee

This is what I have for Trackspace - parenthesis equals < or >
(a href="http://www.schoolyeargo.com/?ref=xxxxxxx")(img src="http://www.schoolyeargo.com/images/xxxxxx.gif" width="0")(/a)
You don't need both height and width commands to hide it, using just width resizes it automatically. In my world, the fewer codes the better. It does put a teeny little square that isn't noticable (when it's not blocked on Firefox) so I have it centered, too. Just looks like a spacer of sorts, so I move it around whenever a little spacer can be used.
Yeah, with my limited knowledge of html i don't even know what the border is for but they always seem to include it in the code. It also works with just the height and width though.
Okay not to sound stupid by any means! lol....But I do miss that tracker. LOL....So do I put in the gif code that they have, plus the one you listed above? Or just there first code & yours??? Sorry I have been trying everything just like Miss
"http://www.schoolyeargo.com/images/1xxx.gif" so delete that whole string and nothing will happen?
~You must be the change you wish to see in the world~
yeah i think i messed mine up, i must have taken out too much or somethin...
can anyone tell me what EXACTLY to take out??
~You must be the change you wish to see in the world~
I'm trying that right now & I am not picking myself up at all on IE. THey have also changed the code on there to e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e instead of schoolyeargo....
But after taking out the whole string i am coming up with no hits. So am I doing something wrong?
hey i didn't know you could do that, i've always thought about it...but was too scared to try thinkin it would mess my hits up! thanks!!
~You must be the change you wish to see in the world~
WoW I didn't realize I could do that. Thanks to you & smartMoM both!! I have the other two trackers already!! But you have been alot of help...
Trackspace.net is FREE and doesn't show up on your page.

Life is to short for drama and petty things...
I have had that one in the past, maybe I'll go back & try it again....

To err is human, to forgive divine

I just put my mixmap tracker on my headline and I don't think it's working. I've removed the other one I had in the about me section and put the one in the headline. I tried to view my private profile with my fake account, with another browser (IE, I normally use Firefox) and Mixmap hasn't detected it but it still detects me when I click on my profile with my account on Firefox.
Does this happen to anyone else?
It detects you because you going to your profile from the same IP. Now if you were to log on to a different computer and then go on to your profile it wouldn't show up as you as long as your not logged on to myspace.
Good point, thanks. Apparentely is working because now I was able to detect a guy who sent me a friends request and I declined but I could see him click on my page again. Cool.
I have one in my blog section and a different one in my about me section and they both work pretty well
To err is human, to forgive divine
Wait a sec you can put on in your blog!?!?! how ? please do tell!
and how do u hide the trazor image?
Don't use those junky trackers that require an image if you want to put a tracker in your blog, use mixmap or CreateBlog instead
hey sweet, thanks i think i'll have to try it.
