I'm searching for assistance with code for a Div Overlay that I have been working on for a while now. The majority of the programming that I have learned so far is just from attempting to do this page.

I have my page set up with a center image and the links, and what I want to be links around the 4 sides of the image. What I would like to do is turn the 4 non-links into mouseovers so that when someone places the mouse over it, it will pop up with a text box that covers the center image. Then when they move the mouse away it goes back to the original image. ... For example, one of the non-links is showing on my page as just the title "About Me". and what I want is that when someone touches it with the mouse it changes color like the rest of my actual links, and then covers the center image with a box that allows me to type all of the information into it. Then when they move the mouse away it disappears.

I have now spent days and days searching the web, and trying tidbits that I found which turned out not to work for me. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

MySPace does not allow javascript commands such as onmouseover.

You can however use CSS to change the look of the DIV using the :hover attribute for a CSS class. Either that or use Flash.

I've done searches and searches and tried at least 50 different codes but to no avail. If any of them had the possibility of working through tweaks, then I wouldn't have known enough yet to fix them!

Re: OnMouseover for Div Overlay

Try googling: image changes on mouseover. I found some codes but have never tried them. Basically my thought was use photo shop to create an image of the text you want. Save as a gif or jpg and that way when people mouse over it will switch from image to image instead of image to text. Maybe that will be easier. That's a neat idea. I'm just getting started on building a div too. Fun stuff.
