You heard it here first the new iphone is all black and is coming out soon shhhh!
New iphone
sneak peak of the 3G. below is piece from the article on msnbc (read in full here):
While the iPhone 3G still does not have voice dialing, video recording or copy-and-paste features used in many other smartphones, it does have “one towering tsunami of a feature” that should silence “Appleholics” who have “expressed dismay at how little the handset has changed,” wrote David Pogue of The New York Times.
That feature is the iPhone App Store, part of the 2.0 software, and “a central, complete, drop-dead simple online catalog of new programs for the iPhone,” he said.
The iPhone 3G, so named for the faster, third-generation wireless network it runs on, instead of 2.5G used by the first-generation iPhone, is definitely faster for e-mail and Web access, reviewers found.

I have seriously contemplated going to AT&T just so I could get an iPhone but my cell phone company is pretty cool so I will just have to live without it. Yes, something new comes out with Apple all the time but its not their fault that people keep buying into it. I plan on keeping my MacBook until it dies. Although, I do want a desktop, once I get the one I want, I'm set until I can no longer use it. Heck, even when I shop for clothes, I generally buy things that stay "in style" for years. I have shirts that people still find cute that I have had for at least 5 years. I rarely buy into the latest fad.
Isn't that the Apple way? To make something new and shiny and expensive, then replace it a short time later with something newer, shinier, and more expensive? A la iPods? That would drive me crazy, one reason I never jumped on the iPod bandwagon... Seems like they will be doing the same thing w/ the phones, that would really irk me if I had just payed hundreds of bucks for one...
Well..isn't that how the computer industry works? You buy a brand new gadget, like an apple, an ipod, a sony laptop, or custom build a pc...and a few months later a brand-new-much-cooler-looking one comes out!
Though I really must defend the iPhone..I've never ever been happier with a phone in my life. And believe me, I've tried out quite a lot
so there is no way I'll replace mine. It even fell out of my hand a few days back, and it had nothing. No scratches or dents whatsoever, and everything was working fine. Can't say that about my old Nokia!!
Well..isn't that how the computer industry works?
i think it is applicable to all industries. it is how they stay in business. products must evolve. therefore, "next generation" line of items bring in returning customers or new ones wanting the latest and greatest "it" techie toy, car, jeans, appliance, etc.

The more money you pay for something, you'd like to think it would last a little longer... I'd be kinda mad the way Apple stuff seems to "evolve" too quickly to make your dollar worth anything. How long was it out when they took the lower-grade iPhone off the market? Like a week? How often do we really need a new iPod? I like gadgets, but I don't like to buy what I don't really need. I don't even own an mp3 player! The only time I would use it is when I am riding around on the lawn mower.
I can't believe I am still using the same cell I got over 2 years ago. I had a bad habit of shattering phones in the past.
I'm happy to say my Pee Cee is still working great, I think I got about 2 years ago as well. I did add some RAM, but that was just cause it was cheap to do so... If I had a use for 2 computers, I'd consider a Macbook just for S&Gs. But I just don't really need one.
that quote is key! we're spoiled americans that cannot stop at just one. needing and getting would normally suffice. however, "wanting" is just that. i want it because it is new. i want it before jane or john doe get it. i want it because i'm a compulsive buyer. etc. that is just how some folks are wired upstairs.

Yeah that is why I got suckered into the ipod videos (which is why I have a mac badge). I started off with one when they first came out. Kids stole mine so I got them all one then they break and then comes replacements. We currently have 5 ipod video (yes tattoo sucker on my forehead). Honestly I would have probably gotten another brand but darn relatives at Christmas all got the kids itune gift cards and I have like 125.00 in credits there (which you can't use to purchase a ipod with only the junk to put in them). It aggravated the tar out of me since I already have 25 gb + of music not to mention all the movies and games that I already had (love my torrents) so apple finds yet one more sucker ppl into buying there products.

Exactly! And that's why they'll keep doing it. Because we keep giving them money. I'm poor! I don't have any money! But if I did, I wouldn't blow it on crap I don't need. I guess that means I'm just a little bit smarter than the big companies trying to convince us to line their pockets...
