 I have a lightscribe enabled drive. In burning options I tried burning in safe mode instead of the automatic setting. What is going om here? I am mostly upset at wasting three HP LiteScribe disks. If you need more information let me know. Sat, 11/22/2008 - 10:16am

Did Nero come with your Lightscribe/computer? or is there a different HP burning program? Back in the days when i was still addicted to Windows I purchased a LightScribe drive and if i recall i could only use the HP/Lightscribe burning software until i was able to find a special version of Nero (or drivers or something that i cant remember) If it came with lightscribe-burning program, does it work ? I'm far from an expert on tech stuff but for what its worth, whenever I used to burn at a very high speed like 40x I almost always got the error. A friend of mine once told me to try and burn at a lower speed which he said helps the burn itself and also whatever media you play it on would read it better if it wasnt burned at such a high speed. It seems to have worked for me so far. Anyone else who actually knows about this stuff is free to correct me if i'm wrong

Have you tried using the drag and drop burn built into windows or like Windows Media Player or iTunes as a test? If these burn without fail then you know it's Nero 8. If they fail I would say it's either a defective drive or it's defective media. Can you get a hold of a different piece of media to try. Is the drive HP? if not maybe is doesn't like the HP media. Burners can be picky sob's sometimes. Post new comment |

I ended up buying and installing a new drive. Turns out the drive itself was defective. Thank you all for suggestions and input.
