I was able to use Firefox and "anonymizer" settings to get through my school firewall.
it's easy -
open Firefox (install it first if it's not on the computer)
get the settings from one of the "anonymizer" sites or "private surfing" sites.
enter the proxy address info from the anonymizer or proxy site into Firefox, under Tools, Options, General, Connection settings. just type in the address from the anonymizer site, and under 'port', enter 8080
you might have to try a few different anonymizer or proxy settings before it works i had to try 3 before it worked

my stupid school blocks myspace and email sites. i tried one of those programs that had a 30 day free trial and now i can access myspace and my yahoo-mail from my laptop on campus!
after 30 days i'll have to pay $22, but it's worth it thank you!
