i went to google and typed in "how to get past firewalls", and went to the one that said DIG.com and it shows many different links for proxies

1. Put firefox on a usb flashdrive, or floppy disk if it fits.
2. Get this program called DamnSmallLinux. Its a very small operating system with 2 internet surfing programs. It completely overrides the freakin system and hopefully it will work for you, because i go to a rich school, and they pay alot of money to block sites, but i got through it.

well, i dont reallyuse or know what websense is, but i googled it and i think it should work. even though firefox got deleted, use the way of putting it on a usb drive. REMEMBER TO INSTALL IT TO THE USB DRIVE, DONT JUST PASTE THE SHORTCUT THERE OR IT WILL NOT WORK. you can do this by doing custum install and you can choose wwhere to install. then install it to a folder in ure usb drive and there you go.

Just because you connect your compy to a pipeline like a school or office doesn't mean you can access the entire internet. Since i have dialup at home i would bring my computer into the school to download updates. i could access microsoft and a number of other sites. however when i tried to access myspace, the school saw my computer as any other. unless you know the password to bypass it wont work. for my school at least. the T1 connection comes in and goes right through the firewall and then the filtration computer system (ours is BESS FILTRATION). obviously there are other setups such as proxys but our school uses a direct connection to the filtration service. every computer connected goes throught it. therefore just because you bring in your own computer [laptop] doesn't mean you will always bypass everything

they will prolly see it in their logs as an attempt to get to a blocked site, something they see all the time.
if you find an anonymizer that they have not blocked(and you get to Myspace with it) they will see it eventually and then block it - then you'll have to find another one. it's like a cat and mouse game.

The way around any so called school 'firewall' is really through the proxies. Be careful with Bess and other web filtering programs it learns from its flaws so it will slowly block used proxies. Cgi proxies are usually the only proxies that will actually let you login
