Myspace Mail with Google Gears

 Myspace "inbox" messages says:

Add Search and Sorting to your inbox with Google Gears! Find Out More!

 

Just curious if anyone has tried this? Is it worth it and what does it do?  Pros - Cons?!?!?!

EDIT (UPDATE):  Well I added the google gears and I LOVE IT.  Here is a screen shot of it:

 

Notice the search...... The search only works in the inbox but you can seach via a name, subject, date or status (read or unread).  Hey I found the 3 emails that were unread that I could never find (for a while myspace was telling you how many unread emails you had).   Now I notice that the add google gears is gone on my myspace but I was able to add it via the link above (yeah).  I did have to go in and mark it to apply to myspace (tools > google gears settings > Denied Sites > remove myspace)

So I'm happy to know that you have saved all the messages I've sent you... Am I weird that I delete most everything right after i read it? I do the same with regular email.

 HAHA yeah that's you my devil friend!  I know I'm a pack rat with this type of stuff.  Hey I guess I could search for drunk messages - LOL.  Hey I did find some messages that were never read - some how I missed them.

Ok I'm bumping this thread - I added the Google Gears and I friggin love it.  You can see a screen shot above.   If you don't have the add google gears on the top of you myspace inbox then you can click the link above (here below) and add it.

Windows XP

Any idea what kind of file this is? How can we open it up and view it's contents outside of MySpace? One would think if that is possible it maybe possible to read messages without the sender knowing (possibly by creating a copy and reading the copy).

Not sure if the abality to edit the file will proof useful. You may be able to change the status so a message that was read on MySpace goes from "Read" back to "Unread". But wouldn't that be on your side only? Whoever sent the message would still see it as "Read" I'd imagine.

you know, i've noticed some strange activity in my inbox..in my main profile...i was able to edit messages as like here on GUG befoe posting them (color,text,size and photos inserts) and it only was there for like a week. but on my other myspace profiles i could not do that in my inbox/compose.

 

havent seen it in a while now.

this happened earlier this month.
