HELP with myspace login!!

Hello,
I've been having trouble with my login for the last 4 months!! I went to login (like any other normal day) and the messages read "invalid". So I tried again (making sure to be very careful about entering each letter/number)...it still read "invalid". After a few attempts, I recieved another message that read "too many failed login attempts". Well, I expected that to happen...so I left it alone for a few DAYS and when I came back...I still had the same problem! Well, I contacted Myspace Customer Service the very first day and I still can't seem to get anyone's help!!
I've sent message after message...salute after salute...AND nothing is working!!! Dealing with them is giving me a headache! Literally!!
This is the situation:
I've had the same account for over a year and when I try to login it tells me that there are "to many failed attempts"....even after leaving the account alone for DAYS/MONTHS!!! I mean c'mon...it should've refreshed itself by now...right?!?! The other issue is that I tried to search my account using my email address...and it's telling me that my email address "does not exist"!! WHAT THE??!!! I don't get it! I never changed my information...so everything should be the same! I know what my information is so this shouldn't be happening. When I email Customer Service, they keep emailing me my account information. WELL...that's apparently NOT what I need. I've verified that my information (username and password) are exactly the same...because Customer Service emails me the same info. But when I try to login using this information...I STILL can't login!!! What's up with this?! After waiting for the help of Myspace Customer Service (and getting none)...I finally just set up a new account! Different email and password. WELL - when I check my regular hotmail account (the email address that I used to set up my new account) I'm still receiving message alerts from my other account!!! NOW how in the world did that happen??!!! Ugh I don't get it. Does this make sense to anyone else??!! How can my old account still be linked to my current hotmail account (that I use for my current myspace login)??!! If anyone can make any sense of this matter - I'd be grateful!!! =)
I don't know what to do and I'm hoping I get some advice from someone on grownupgeek!! Customer Service tries to help but sometimes I don't even think they read any of the emails I send them! They continue to send me my login information but that's not what I need! I need them to find out why I can't login using the info that they're giving me!!! I keep getting the same messages..."this email address does not exist" and "too many failed attempts"!! This is impossible because I've verified my info with CS and they're giving me exactly what I've been using...and it still doesn't work! And there can't be too many failed attempts ...because I haven't tried to login for months!!
UGH!!! Does anyone have any advice??!! I need help!
I have a new account but I'd still like to get into my old account.
Sorry for the long explanation. Any/All suggestions are welcome!

Hi guys!
I'm happy to report that I was finally able to login to my old account!! YAAAYYY! Thank goodness. I literally had to wait months for customer service to realize that the problem wasn't me NOT knowing my information. They kept sending me email after email...with my username and password. For some reason I couldn't get it through to them that I ALWAYS had my correct information. I was just repeatedly getting blocked. Anyways, after numerous emails back and forth...I never thought I'd be able to login! I was about to give up...but finally something happened.
I checked my MSN address (the email addy i used for my old account) and there was a "message alert"!! Like I said before, I haven't had ANY "message alerts" for months because they've all been going to my HOTMAIL address (the email addy i use for my new account). Well, like you said (PAT07) I decided to use the link from the "message alert" in my MSN address...and IT FINALLY WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!! I logged in and had hundreds of messages, comments and friend requests. THANK GOODNESS!! This whole process has been so frustrating!! It took me MONTHS...but it did finally work. So, I'm glad...and thankful for the helpful suggestions.
Now that I have access to my old account...I decided that I should delete it. Remember...I set up a new account with Myspace a couple months ago and there's no point in having TWO accounts. WELL - now I'm having a little problem with that too!! Everyday for the last couple of days...I've been logging into my old account and following the steps to CANCEL my account. But it's weird - nothing happens! I wait and then check my MSN address...but I NEVER receive an email to follow through with the cancellation. Has this ever happened to anyone else?? Just curious. I'm hoping that canceling my OLD account won't take another FOUR months like logging in did. If anyone has any suggestions...that'd be great. Thank you so much in advance.

haha it sounds like myspace really has your email info messed up bad. I've deleted several accounts and everytime myspace just sends an email. Well you can wait for them to send you a confirmation to cancel to your old email. Or you can go into your old myspace and enter your new email in there, wait a couple days, and try to cancel again.

sometimes when I log onto myspace it takes my directly to the log out page where the return to myspace button is. I press return to myspace and it takes me to the log in page and I log in and it does it again. I can select favorites and then log in and it takes me to my favorites..wtf?
When you perform an action that requires you to be logged in (but you aren't logged in actually), it will bump you to that action immediately when you do log in

ok I understand that part but why does it sign me out instead of logging in?
I had that happen the other night. I wasn't logged in, but I thought I was. In another tab that still had the sign out link--I hit "sign-out."
Later, I went to go sign in. I entered my sign-in information and instead of taking me to my home page...it sent me to the page you are describing (a button that says "return to home").
I then re-entered my info and was successfully logged in.
On a side note: That is how I got GuGer "sillygirl" back into her profile she had been trying to get into for 6 months....I told her to take a email from her hotmail or yahoo account that was a notification email for a myspace message...and told her to copy and paste it into an address bar and load the page. Then told her to log into myspace and it kicked her into her profile. The strangest thing because she couldn't get logged into that account for almost 6 months until she tried the method. It was just a wild idea I thought of and didn't really know if it would work but it did

Well, that's the thing! I thought that myspace may have deleted my profile but when I search by my name and my url - my profile is still there. My family and friends still send me messages and comments on that profile and I always have to tell them where my new page is. In fact, I still receive 'message alerts' (for my old account) in my new hotmail inbox! This is crazy to me! How did they get mixed up like that. And myspace has responded with my email and password. BUT that's the thing: I still can't login! It keeps telling me that my email doesn't exist and there have been too many failed login attempts.
I'm so confused. My account still exist and I've verified (through customer service) that my login information is still the same. But every time I go to login...it says "this account has too many failed login attempts". Even when I wait for days (to let it refresh)...when I go back and try to login - it tells me the same thing! What's up with that??!

you are probably experiencing a very rare glitch (glitches on myspace are common, but the one you are having is uncommon. actually ive never seen it)
i honestly dont know what you can do. i do have one idea for you--which is a long shot, but...
-go to your hotmail
-open one of the emails that says you have a message
-copy and paste the link into a new window (the link for the myspace message) ( do this while NOT logged in to myspace) Load the page.
-you will be taken to a page that says "you must be logged in to do that.."
-then put in your mypace login info
-click login
-and hopefully it will kick you into your profile
im interested in seeing if this works for you, but it is a long shot.

also have you tried re-setting your browser? I don't know about windows but Safari lets you reset, it clears all the cookies and saved stuff (except bookmarks). This is kindof a long shot too, but I dont know what else to say.
I asked myspace to change my email address once and they did, maybe you should create a new random email address and have myspace attach your new address to your old page, then try to access it. It does sound like a Myspace problem, if you change the email then it might go through.

That happened to me a while ago and I sent a salute to Myspace. It took them a while, but they eventually sent me a password (I cant remember if they changed it or if they sent me my old one). You just have to wait for Myspace to respond to your salute, its the only way to get into it now. It sounds like your profile might be gone if you cant find your email. Did you ever set a myspace URL? or did you ever succesfully search yourself before this happened? Try searching by all three methods, if you did choose a URL (the one you CANT change later) and can't find yourself, your account might have been deleted by myspace.
