Mirror Displays

So recently i decided to hook up my macbook pro to my tv in hopes of getting some "bigger" screen gaming going down, but alas whenever i try to play a game on it, it always cuts out a portion of the right and the bottom. Ive tried changing the resolutions but nothing seems to change some of the picture getting cut off even when the imae displayed is much smaller than the tv. Any ideas? my mac is running at 1440 x 852 resolutiion and my tv is at 1360 x 768
