i would like to know how to enter the following symbol or special character in the mathematical form for my study project,like dy/dx or 1543/5400....anything like one number over other(numerator and denominator.... i dont wana use slashes between "dy" and "dx".....its like i want to get it in numerator and denominator form....anybody can help me???

If you're running office 07, then go to INSERT and all the way at the right there's an 'equation' button next to 'symbol' ... click that, type XXX/YYY (the X's and Y's being your numbers) and when you click out of the equation or maybe it's just pressing enter, it will turn into your numerator over denominator... I don't have an earlier version of office to check into, but I'm assuming you might be able to find it in the Insert menu... maybe under symbol if equation isn't there..
