Does anyone have, or has anyone played with the MacBook Air? I'm thinking of replacing my old busted-down XP Laptop with either the Mcbook Air or just the regular old 'fat' MacBook - but i've never actually touched the MacBook Air..
Since i have my full-sized iMac, the lack of an optical drive wont be an issue - neither will only one USB port.. I would use it mostly for web-surfing, email and GuGing from the couch.. I'm just worried it might be too flimsy or the keyboard or screen might be too small, etc..
I was planning on going to the Apple store on friday to have a look at one, but since Friday is iPhone day I'll probably have to wait at least another week before its safe to go near the place..
so.. (for those of you that have USED one or have one) what are your thoughts on the McBook Air?

I've played with one and thought it was really cool for those who just need it for lightweight computer duties. Its very portable but it did feel a little flimsy and I have this thing about wanting sturdy objects.
A friend of mine has it and I absolutely love it. I'm definitely thinking about replacing my good old power book..the only thing that bothers me about it is Leopard. Somehow I've grown fond of my tiger!
it's a great computer if you travel often and you really only need it for web access and email, beyond that, it doesn't have the hard drive capacity or features that the macbook & macbook pro have. but it is the perfect laptop for the traveler!

True...But I don't run any fancy apps on my apple anyways. And yea, the HDD is very limited, that's the only catch in my eye (ok, aside from the price obviously) but I'm considering buying a tiny external drive to go with it.
we have, and recently, this past weekend at best buy. husband really likes it, and had planned on purchasing one. he frequents macmall.com and the apple store in DE (tax free) and came across a deal this morning that gave him a new macbook and an ipod free. the macbook he will use with his telescope. for the price of a mac air, you can get the 20" imac + a mac book. so, if you are in to quantity, its a great deal. if you are in to the want it got to have the new technology now, then get the air.

i'm mostly interested in it for it's size..
and, FYI - they just dropped the price on the Solid State Drive (no hard drive) model, by $500...
it is amazingly thin and sexy looking. light weight. when i picked it up, it was like picking up a picture frame. fragile. husband was drooling over it like crazy.
