I went ahead and got the MacBook Air SSD last night and I love it!  I can finally throw-away the old 7Lb Windows XP anchor that i've been using!

Getting the Mac Air setup and connected to my wireless, shared files on the iMac, shared printer, etc, was SUPER easy - I'm so used to trying to share files/printers between XP and my iMac which is always a pain.  Sharing between Macs "just works"..

and side question... so, the mousepad doubles as a coffee coaster??

Before i bought it i was worried that it might be too flimsy.. but after touching and caressing it at the Apple store it was clear that it's very sturdy.. it actually feels stronger/sturdier than my old HP anchor.

and.. the mousepad only doubles as a coaster when i'm trying to impress everyone with my GuGJunk ..

ok - I DO love this Macbook Air, but it's not perfect.. so far i have ONE complaint:
it runs hot! One of the reasons I wanted to dump my old XP anchor is because the bottom would get so hot i was going sterile from it burning my lap. I've found that the Mac Air, although cooler than the old HP laptop, still gets hotter on the bottom than i like. The heat is all at the very rear (furthest from the family jewels), so it's a big step up - but it's still very warm..

okay so thank you for the visual Wink! i'm headed to run some errands shortly and i'm going to stop at the Apple store and pick up one (not purchase....lift). i didn't notice the heat before and their demo machines run all day/night. so do you think it is just a design flaw?

i think any core-two Duo processor is going to generate heat like a flame-thrower, so without more bigger, louder, battery-sucking fans, that's just how it's going to be..
