In response to the other post, many people still use LiveJournal.

I might as well start the topic.

So is there any known way to view a LJ who isn't your friend who has their entries set on "Friends-Only"?

This may be harder then MySpace since it's older and probably has more security.

But then again, MySpace is more popular.

Well, just thought I'd post this since someone eventually will. Eye-wink

If the person had entries that were once public but are now friends-only, you can find them with blogsearch.google.com. This also includes recently deleted journals. If a person has an entry that was once public that is now private or friends-only, you can still read it. what you do is go to blogsearch.google.com and search for a phrase that you remember from it, or words your can recall that are rare. For example, one I searched for was like "billy" "jill" "luke" "lurve" or something along those lines. then the entry comes up in the search along with a blurb from it. you then google a phrase from the tail end of the blurb. it'll come up again, also with a blurb, but starting with the blurb you googled and going further on down the entry. if you keep doing it, you can read the whole entry that way pretty much. it's tedious, but there ya go. blogsearch.google is kind of cool - you can go to advanced options and choose their various lj names (the title of the journal, not just their lj name) and all their entries will come up -- even the locked ones, if they were ever once public. That sounds confusing but if you play around with it you'll know what I mean...

I am: Not really paying attention

Re: Viewing Friends-Only LiveJournal s

Not only Google but there are two LJ specific services: LJSeek.com and LJFind.com. LJFind is probably best because there was a big uproar a couple of months back when people realized that entries that had been public for only mere seconds were listed on there.

Livejournal Friends-Only/Private Entries

I'm very interested in this too, seems quite the challenge, I'd love to know how out of pure curiousity.
If anyone knows or has some ideas to try, please share.
