Using javascript causes my Firefox to freeze and crash. I thought it was just particular pages I was using, but its everything that uses java.

Help out the technologically incompetent - how do I find what is causing this, and how do I fix it??

Re: Javascript

What extensions are you running in your Firefox?

What version of Firefox are you running?

I'm fairly sure that your Java installation won't affect your javascript in Firefox but you might try Almost Evil's advice and check your Java version.

Java and Javascript are different so please be sure about which you are speaking about.

Java can usually be repaired by reinstalling/updating your version of Java on your machine.

Javascript is hosted on the website itself and cannot be changed locally. Reinstalling Firefox can remove your custom extensions and settings that may have changed recently to start the crashes.

Re: Javascript

Make sure you are using the most recent version of Java.

Did this just start recently, or has it always been a problem? If it just started recently, then something in your settings got changed. You may want to try a clean install of Firefox.

Re: Javascript

Yeah, I have version 6/5.

It's been the last couple of weeks, it just happened one morning. I'd like to try everything else before reinstalling Firefox as I don't want to lose my bookmarks and drop-down history.
