Is unread mail ever deleted after a time automaticaly from your Myspace inbox?

I sent someone a message and couldn't withdraw it, as of course you can't delete messages when sent! 

Thankfully, it hasn't been read and I have of course also no way of knowing how long it might sit undread in his inbox.  He might have deleted it unread but I can't tell that either! 

Sent messages expire after 14 days, does this apply to received messages?

the only email you can "unsend" is through AOL or AIM and of course both sender and received must use siad account. Plus, you would have to unsend it before they opened it. Othersise, once mail goes into an inbox, it usually stays there. I have had mail in my Outlook mailbox for years. Also, if bnoth people are using AOL or AIM, you can check the status (and Outlook used to have that option as well) and see if the person read it yet. So if you are indeed using AOL and so it the receiver, go to the message in your outbox that you sent to him, and click on check message status. It will tell you if the person has read it, and if not, then you can "unsend" it.

Received messages stay forever. I went a few months without logging in and all my messages were in still in my inbox.

NOTE: You see when a person reads your message when it says read in your inbox. But if they let the message sit in their inbox for 14 days, then it will disappear out of your outbox and they can read your message and you will never know. Some people purposely let msgs sit in their inbox for over 14 days so that the sender doesn't know if they ever read it or not.

There is no "legal" way to get into their account and delete the message before they read it.
