Re: is there anyway you can send a picture text thing to some on
OH here is a great site that breaks down every cellular provider and tells you how to do it. I can't take credit for this one - it's goes to another moderator "Ashton".
Re: is there anyway you can send a picture text thing to some on
Well in the site I gave on some of the cellular providers yes. Like alltel for example - you go to there site and type in the text you want. You then type in your phone number (but it doesn't check it) and where you want them to reply to - be it email addy or by phone. Either way it doesn't check. I guess it would all be depending on who is the carrier. With that said you can always open a extra email addy to send it anonymously
Thanks for the infoThe cellphone they use is not on that list, they use a tracphone.
So, now I'm wondering if theres a way to get my computer to accept a text message from a tracphone in the form of an "instant message?" (similar to when you send a text online and the receiver of the text replies and it pops up on your screen in a gray box kind of like a instant message)
Is there some change to a pc to enable this? thanks in advance.
Pat you can use yahoo messenger for this. Go to action>>>send sms. Just put in the phone number and it will send to the phone. They can reply from their phone and it will go into the IM window. and if ur not online when they reply, it will get stored as an offline IM, which you will recieve the next time you log in. Do you use yahoo at all?
Perfect!! I can't wait to check it out. I use yahoo for emails but I don't currently have any messenger program in use. So, I will use your suggestion. Thank you
I should know the answer to this after spending $9,000 on a computer course for my A+ certification, but actually this isn't so tech involved but anyways...
Does anyone know what change that I need to make on my computer to allow it to accept an incoming text message? Is it port related? Something in internet options?
I will be using an online-text message-service to send a text to someone and I want to know if she can just hit reply on her phone and have her reply text come to my computer.
I have seen it happen on other computers, but I don't know what change to make on the computer??

with a side kick when a picture is sent to you it is posted to a website. Tmobile will then send you a text message with a link to the sight and a password that stays active for 3 days if no further activity is done with the site IE more pictures sent. At least that how it is with my sidekick two.
As for the cingullar. I couldent find anything on the website that didnt require a login/account so there may be a way through them you just have log in and search around a bit.
