Just a note to see if anyone else has seen Iron Man. Hubs and I went and saw it last night. It's got some witty writing and the special effects are neat. I didn't read the comics, but Hubs did and he said that the story is pretty authenic. I really like the "dark" hero that's popping up in popular movies and the comic books they are based upon like V for Vendetta, Batman Begins, Sin City, etc.

Also, for the girls out there, Robert Downy Junior is some seriously hot eye candy. I would watch that man read the phonebook aloud just to look at him.

The guys will enjoy the action and this movie and a little actress named Gwyneth Paltrow. She's charming as Tony Stark's sidekick and is really gorgeous with her newly colored red hair.

OMG, my husband and I saw this movie on Sunday. It totally rocked! My husband said he read some of the comics, but it wasn't interesting to him--after seeing the movie, though, he said it added a lot more to the Iron Man storyline than he imagined.

I just loved when he was building the suit and everything. Plus, Tony Stark rocked! I'm very impressed by Robert Downey, Jr.

Definitely a must see. . .I would see it in the theater again, if I could. I'll just wait for DVD, I guess!

such an enlightening ending to a bad headliner. i am a RD Jr. fan. loved him in the appearances he guest starred in the series "Ally McBeal" (1997), where he portrayed the attorney Larry Paul, who became Ally's love interest. he won best supporting actor for that role. omg, and have you heard him sit and play the piano and sing?! nice. very nice.

I can't say I've been a fan of his, but I've seen his talent--and I'm happy that he's a very versatile actor There are some actors that are just made for certain roles, ya know? However, I'm happy to see that Robert Downey, Jr. can play any type of role.

i'm thrilled that he is clean & sober. and equally such that he has support from the industry and fans to keep moving in the right direction.

He got a lot of support from comic geeks, because there was a lot of storylines in some older comics where Iron Man was a drunk... so besides looking the part, he kinda was the part in real life.

I second that, he was a down and out for a while and people always give up on actors when they fall. I love when an actor/celebrity bounces back when everyone loves to watch them fail. ROCK ON ROBERT DOWNEY JR.!

Sometimes that's what some people need--they need to know that they are loved and supported, even through the good and bad times. I truly wish the best for him. This is a good way to start fresh!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! Great movie, i especially loved the closing line, "i am ironman".. Robert Downey rocked, im looking forward to Ironman 2... which i hope the make!

It was an AWESOME movie, actually really enjoyed it. We knew about the after the credit thing from Stern. But had to pick up the kids and didn't get to watch it. Which by the way angered me beyond all belief!

One of the best movies ive seen all year.

Im not sure if this is true or not but did anyone notice CAPTAIN AMERICA's shield being worked on by Tony?

Heres a screen shot image, it looks like a shield to me. Marvel does a very great job of having cameos from other Marvel Comics in their movies that takes really close inspection to notice. Smiling Props on their creativity.

That's from the "Ultimate" Marvel comics for anyone who isn't a comic geek like me. "Ultimate" Nick Fury was indeed based as Samuel L. Jackson, who is also a self-admitted comic geek. I've never read an "Ultimate" title, so I don't really know if they're any good.

I've read of a cross-over possibility, where Incredible Hulk and Iron Man have some sort of cameo thing, alluding to the eventual coming of an "Avengers" movie.

Ok I'll third that about Robert Downey Jr.!! I am so glad he is over his drug abuse stage of life!!! He was always such a cutie!! And I can't wait to see Iron Man it looks great! I never read the comic books but my brother was an avid reader and said the casting of the movie fits real well to the book!!

I want to see that - on my list of things to see with my boys. Glad to hear it was good and not just some hype. The previews look awesome.
