iPod Modding

A while back I found a post on here about modding your iPod. I went to the website and was stoked. Basically you download their program, download the modifications (resources, images, etc) plug up your iPod, write the changes and your done. At first it wasn't that easy to get a good clean mod. Now it's easy and easy to customize what they have done. Right now I have a theme on my iPod called It's Time. It's for 5g and 5.5G. I have subbed in an altered main screen and myn altered menu screen using photoshop to modify the bitmaps. I have changed some of the wording as well. It says bands instead of artists. The best part is if you decide you don't like it or you effed it all up, just update your iPod and it's all gone. Better yet before you begin, iPod wizard will let you rip an unmodified version of your iPod's firmware. I have an unmodified version and about three modified versions. When I want to switch I just plug in the iPod and load the firmware I want and write it to the iPod. Here are some pictures.

It's important to note that 6th generation ipods are not supported. Neither is 3g nanos. Honestly their forums are the easiest to navigate and they don't seem to be the most helpful bunch. I followed a chat room discussion where numerous members including a moderator basically told a member he was lazy and they would not help him/her. I will try to help some if you have any questions but I do not have a lot of experience at it. But then again it doesn't take too much to figure out. So go now and personalize your iPod.
