OK I filled up my truck (yes I drive a gas hog SUV Suburban) and yikes at $4.09 its getting ridiculous. I know get a smaller vehicle but see we have lots of toys so I need a bigger vehicle to pull them (trailer with ATV's and a boat). So today I went to fill up as I was low (under 1/4 of a tank) and it really sucks that I have to swipe my card twice because it maxs out at the pump at $75.00 here. I generally have to fill up once a week.
My office gas bill - OMG is though the roof. We have a family business and well some of our work trucks are big (construction) so between our gas bill for regular gas and diesel its running me around 16K a month.
Today I talk to my dad on the phone and he is such a calm person - nothing really ruffles his feathers but whoa was he mad. He has a large fishing boat (38' procat open fishing boat with a tuna tower) so he goes to go fishing this morning. The boat sits on his LOCKED private dock on the intercoastal (ocean water way). The boat had around 400 gal of gas. The boat also when not in use sits up high on a lift (that you have to have a key for to operate). Well someone must have climbed the lift and they pirated his gas - all 400 gal of it. If you have ever filled up at a marina you know its alot more than the at the pump price so that thief boated away with about 2K in gas.
So what are you paying for gas in your area? Have you found yourself scaling down your plans or trips due to the price of gas?

Northern Illinois down to $3.75 (lookin much, much better) and then, in one day, shot back up to $3.99. Must be due to the crisis in Georgia... Or else somebody farted somewhere in the world.
Gas is still around $3.70 or so here, but I stumbled across a gas price war yesterday, woohoo!

Gas is down to 3.61 down here...... how exciting.....
I remember when my family was upset when it hit a dollar a gallon......... when I started driving is when it was an outrageous 1.20 a gallon..... and everyone thought the world would end when it was up to 1.70.................... Who wouldn't kill to have those days again?
My car isn't too bad on gas, so I'm happy... between 25-35 mpg.... and since I don't have an excess of moolah flow, I find that I don't floor it quite as often... actually I've only driven three times in the past month. No wonder I'm stressed, aimless driving used to be how I relaxed...
Gas prices have me considering getting a more fuel efficient vehicle .... heard that from a lot of folks. I found this cost/benefit calculator at Edmunds.com....check it out....this handy little calculator takes your specific vehicle and compares it to your projected replacement. It tells you how many months it would take to show a net gain. If nothing else it's fun to play with.

$3.87 woot!! It went down from $4.09 it was at last week. It takes about $42 to fill my Accord when its at 1/4 I dont let it get lower than 1/4 ever!!

ah ha! looks like we can blame china! their demand for gas is much of the reason for the dramatic run-up in global oil prices. to them, bigger is better and everywhere else in the world suv's and fuel guzzling automobiles are on the decline - - in china, they're on a buying frenzy. wtf? do they know something we don't?
