I have this POS and I positively hate it.
I woke up with a headache and in bad mood this morning and I realized how much I hate this f'ing coffee grinder. I realized that I've always hated it. I despise it. It's nothing more than a f'ing high rpm food processor that is capable of turning gravel into sand.
Why don't you tell us how you really feel! OK! I will!
It's messy, it chops unevenly, the whirring blade causes the grounds to get hot and stick to everything because of static cling. And when I dump the thing into the filter, the coarser grounds come out but the part that was pulverized into burnt coffee dust is still caked in the bottom. Then I have to scrape it out with my finger and now there's burnt coffee dust packed uncomfortably under my well-manicured fingernail!!!
There.
Sorry for that.
So anyway.... I want one that doesn't "cook" the grind and doesn't get crap all over my counter when I empty it. I'm looking at "burr type" mills in stainless. I've found that the ones people are happiest with are the conical, gravity-fed designs:

This one is the Saeco GT1 and they want about $150. Plastic but has good reviews.
And then I found this one:
It's a Virtuoso and it goes for about $200 and it's more heavily made. I hate buying something and later wishing I had gotten the better one. This one seems better made, near-commercial quality so I'm leaning for the Virtuoso.
Anyone use a burr grinder? What model and do you have do you have any gripes about it? I'm tossing my POS Krups and if I have to, I'll get one of these:

I use my old cuisinart food prossecor (I think thats what it is lol) that thing can even shave ice like the hawaiin ice places, you can put a whole junk of meat in it and get very finely ground, and of course it works miracles on coffee beans =)

I love my coffee grinder... it also brews it just the way I like it with whatever I want in it.... even puts whipped cream on top if I so choose that day...
My coffee grinder:
LOL! Hmmm. Those are nice too. Do they come in stainless?
I'll take one....or two...haha

Tuna ><((((*> the other white meat!
Here's one in brushed chrome which has a thermal carafe. I hate glass because the hotplate scorches the coffee. And also in the 4 years I've been in this house, I have broken 2 glass coffee carafes on my quartz countertop.

now you're talking babe. timer. built in grinder. non glass carafe. sold!

eBay!
I believe there are some supermarkets that allow you to grind your own coffee beans on the premises. It will save you hassle dealing with your own grinder and the worry of "fillers" in already pre-ground coffee.

You're upsetting me....on several levels.
Well...i buy my coffee already grinded...maybe you should just do that and buy a coffee maker.....ahh the easy life! JK, you probably like to grind your own coffee since you use a coffee grinder. So I don't know much about coffee grinders but i think the middle one looks nice
