Re: i can hear my mouse through my speakers?

I know what you are talking about - it's a buzzing type sound when you move your mouse.  Unless you are hearing scuttering and squeaking then you are talking about a different kind of mouse.

I've run into this a few times - on my own Win98 machine and a couple of others.  I fixed it by removing and reinstalling the mouse drivers.  To do this, go to Device Manager => right-click My Computer> Properties> Hardware> Device Manager.  Open the tree under "Mice and other pointing devices", right-click the item(s) in that tree and choose uninstall.  Also do the same for all items under "Human Interface Devices" (but don't kill your keyboard - leave it).  Then reboot.

If your mouse stops working during this, you can complete the mission using your arrow and enter keys.  Use your up and down to go up and down, use your right arrow to open a tree.  When you get to the device you want to uninstall, hit Delete and use your arrows and enter key to confirm.

When you are ready to reboot, press your Windows key (bottom row, 2nd from left).  Use your arrow and enter keys to get to "Turn Off Computer" and reboot.  Keep trying... you'll figure it out.

What you don't want to do in this situation is to hit the mechanical restart button on your computer case to kill it.  You want your mouse driver to finish its uninstallation completely during a normal Windows shutdown.

If it's still buzzing after a restart, go to your mouse manufacturer's website to see if there is a recent driver file.  Install it and restart.

Still no joy? Then try a different mouse to see if it's an incompatibility issue with your system and your mouse.

Try going into your Volume Control and clicking the check box to mute Aux and/or Line Input

If its a wireless mouse then most likely its a radio frequency issue.  You might want to try and move the signal part that plugs into the PC (sorry cant think of the word) as far away from the pc as possible and see it that helps.  Have you tried a different mouse to see if it is still making that noise (maybe a wired mouse)?

Re: i can hear my mouse through my speakers?

well it's actually a wired mouse and i don't have another one. i just bought this one like 3 months ago cause my other broke Sad blaaaah.
