I am new and have lots of questions???

Hello everyone, I am glad to have found this place. I have been reading alot of topics in here and I have some questions??? I am not very computer savvy so please be patient with me.

What are trackers?

What are they for?

Do I need one? If so How do I get one.

I really want to learn, so any answers will be appreciated. I have more questions but I think thats all I can handle at one time.(lol)

I think FairyGirl did a good job explaining what a tracker is. For the most part they wont say exactly what profile hit your myspace but will rather show you the IP of the person that hit your profile. The IP will tell you where they are located (a general area - not where they live).

There are many reasons like FairyGirl stated why ppl use them. Some just to see who has been on there page, some deal with stalkers and some parents like them on there kids pages to monitor the activity. You can also have more that one tracker on your page.

Do you need one well it is up to you. I will tell you that they are against myspace TOS - not that it stops most. Myspace doesn't actively go looking for trackers but if you profile is turned in for one they can delete your tracker and they can possibly delete your profile - it is a risk you take.
